Do they measure the child if they're close to the height? We would like to rider swap for Space Mountain because I don't want my son riding it {long story short, PTSD from my daughter riding it for the first time and thinking she flew out because she leaned forward. Came off the ride in tears. LOL} and he probably wouldn't want to ride anyway but there is a chance he'll be 44" by then. Can we still switch off?

yes they will messer your child if tall enought you can ask the CM for a swap pass but just be know they might say no, and you can swap at the ride it self

Not sure how long it’s been since you ride with your daughter, but there are lap bars now. Might help you emotionally.

And to allay your concerns, they aren’t for the drop. Physics keeps you in your seat for that. They are to keep the grownups who get silly ideas down in their seats during the long parts of the ride.

And Mk splash has side by side seating so you could sit next to him, with your arm around him, if he wants to ride.

Space Mountain

Yes it's for Space Mountain...the back to back seating just does me in. She is 13 now and was 6 then...they still tell people the story. Ugh! lol

We will all have FP+ since I can barely schedule them in the first place, much less schedule some for one person and others for another. So we can swap off in line? How does that work? We've always taken another not rider adult like my aunt or mom with us so they just kept the non riding kid...except that one time on Space Mountain... ;)

No CM has ever asked to measure our non rider(s) for a rider swap. That's not to say it doesn't happen; it's just my experience. We have used rider swap on two occasions where our oldest son was tall enough, but did not want to ride (Tower of Terror, Space Mountain). He was not measured, though he was obviously tall enough (about 50 inches vs the required 44).

My nephew was measured for TOT and unfortunately was a hair over the height and we were not given the paper rider swap option, we were offered an alternative but it involved waiting in the queue which my nephew was afraid of as well so we took turns.

There seems to be a new swap program coming out in mid/late June so depending on when your trip is you may want to look into that. I think the thread is on the rumors board here.
