We are a family of four looking to go in October. The youngest, 4Yrs is not going to be tall enough to ride Everest. So how does rider swap work?
One of us rides with the 8 yr old. While the other parent plus 4 yr old stands in line. Then the other rides... The second parent rides alone or can the 8 yr old ride again? So confused...

Parent A Rides with child who is tall enough
while parent B waits with Child who is not

Parent B rides with child who is tall enough
While Parent A waits with child who is not

Child/Children who are tall enough in your party will be able to ride twice

Yes, you are given up to 3 tickets for rider swap.

All of you go up to the entrance (FP if you have FP,regular if you do not), tell them you need a rider swap. The CM at the entrance gives you what looks like a paper fastpass, though it says rider swap on it. One parent and the tall enough child ride via whatever line they are entitled to be in (fp or standby), then when they are done, the other parent stays with the too small child and the others go through the fastpass line with the rider swap ticket. I took one photo of a rider swap ticket when we went, it just happened to be for everest :)
