Rider Swap Question??

I was just reading the Disneyworld website about rider swap. It was my understanding that the pass is good for the adult staying with the child not riding and up to 2 more people. We are a family of 5. We have a 12,9 and 1 year old. So if we use rider swap my husband takes the two older kids on a ride and them it would be my turn to go with the kids with the pass but the way the website reads is that I would have to choose one child to go with me. That wouldn't be right. Has anyone recently used the rider swap and can confirm how many the return pass is good for?
Thanks!

"If the person in Party 2 waited alone with the child, he or she may bring one Guest back to ride the attraction with him or her. Please note: Only 2 Guests are allowed per Rider Switch Pass."

We were there in Dec and did a ton of ride swap. (Our kids are 5, 4 and 1) The ticket we were given was good for up to 3 people so our older 2 kids both rode everything they wanted to twice (once with me and once with DH). I think the wording is trying to limit multiple adults taking advantage of the system or its a new change very recently.

The WDW website is wrong (which happens pretty often.)

The rider switch pass is good for up to 3 people.
