I learned about Ridemax on these boards and decided to go for it. I have always purchased TGM for my WDW trips and found it very useful for planning park days. I know things have been posted about Ridemax but want to make sure I'm using it correctly.

You can't set the time, right? For instance, if I want to spend a morning at DL, then head to DCA around 2:00, there is no way to set that within Ridemax. Also, no way to set the time earlier for MM?

Your understanding is correct. RideMax will not make itineraries for DL and DCA at the same time. Instead, you can add a long "break" for DL, and then separately you would make plans for DCA. For example, for DL you could schedule a "break" from 2:00 to 6:00pm, and then you would click "change" and select DCA, and then make an itinerary for DCA from 2:00 to 6:00pm.

You're correct again, RideMax does not make schedules for Magic Mornings.

But the following 2 threads will help you plan your MM: :thumbsup2

What is Ridemax?

It's a computer program that takes years and years of DL info and plans out your day so you can ride the most rides in the allotted time you give it. I have heard nothing but good things about it! I would use it except I only own a mac and it's not compatible...

Tink Lover: I am new to ridemax myself but as far as MM goes in the notes on Ridemax he gives a list of all the rides you can probably do within that first hour then start your day (which you would not enter into ridemax) then just enter the rest of the rides you plan to do with ridemax. Look under tips and hits in ridemax.

You can put in specific hours because I have and it worked for me. I am going to be there the first night from 6:00pm on and it allowed me to schedule those hours 6:00-8:30 and enter some rides.

You will not see them until you save and see your list (after you hit make my plan). Click on plan options and put in the time you plan to get on your first ride and the time you plan to get on your last ride you will be at DL, make your plan, print it out and then do another for DCA the same day with the different start and stop times you plan to be there. You just cannot do them all together on the same page but you can set times for each park separately.

Does Ridemax help you to decide what day is better to do something than another day?

Not really that I know of so far. It does tell you if you do not have MM entry to go to DCA that day. If you do have MM then at least start at DL that day.

I think it's the Unofficial Guide that tells you to go to DCA if you don't have the MM privilege. JMHO, the Unofficial Guide's advice is bogus -- if you don't have the MM privilege you can simply avoid FL and TL in the morning, and start your day on the left side of DL. :goodvibes

Just a little bit. On a Magic Morning day, if you select some FL rides or Finding Nemo, then RideMax will recommend doing some of those on a non-MM day. Or on a MTTMM day, if you select some Toontown rides, RideMax will recommend doing some of those on a non-MTTMM day.

As far as I know, that's about it.

Ok, I was going to say, avoiding the entire 2 hours of park time just because of MM sounds crazy! Like you said, I'd just go to another area. I'll have to check the UOG. I have that book and I don't remember it saying that but I haven't looked at if for a while.

I agree 100%. The ONLY reason to start the day at DCA (on any day) is if you are sleeping in.

Otherwise... imo... it's best to start ALL days (with MM or not) at DL. The days of week & weather you have MM or not will merely determine where in DL you should go first, but if you're up & at em' early.....head to DL first for glorious early morning touring & initial FP collecting....even if only for 60-120 min.
