So looking at the hours and different things, I have an idea that I’m not sure is feasible. Epcot is opening freakishly early during our stay, 30 minutes before Magic Kingdom. Lyft and Uber are both a good chunk of money cheaper to go to Epcot as opposed to Magic Kingdom from our vacation rental. it’s not much, but it is usually around five dollars or more, so that adds up over a week. is there any reason why we could not head over to Epcot one hour before they open and hop on the monorail to Magic Kingdom? is there somewhere posted hours that show what time the monorail starts running to the various stops? it seems it would not only save us a little bit of money, but also avoid fighting all of the traffic going into the TTC at the same time. It’s going to be bananas next week, I just want to be prepared with a plan!

To save $5 per day? Absolutely not a chance that’s worth it to me.
Why not? Asking genuinely. We’ve only ever stayed on property and had to wait forever for buses, so our tolerance for waiting is pretty high. But it seems to me like they pull right in the parking lot, we hop on the monorail, and jump off at Magic Kingdom. Why is it any longer than going to the TTC? Epcot itself is closer to our rental then Magic Kingdom is so it is a shorter drive, and we have to take the monorail one way or another correct?

one thing you have to change monorails at the TTC.

1) You would need to transfer monorails at the TTC.

2) You may need to wait some time for the monorail.

3) Assuming that you are looking to arrive in the morning, you are spending 30 or 40 minutes of potential ride time with less people in the parks.

4) Make sure the monorail is operating.

I’m looking at a day when Epcot already opens at 8:30am, 30 minutes earlier than MK. If I arrive at Epcot at 7:30am, and it takes me 30 minutes to get to MK, it is still one hour before MK opening. No ride time. What am I missing?

Transferring monorails is a pain, especially with kids - in a big crowd. How often are you planning on going to the MK? Twice? That is only $10, not worth the extra aggravation in my opinion. You might face a huge crowd to get on the MK monorail if you wait until it is operational from Epcot. I'd go earlier to the MK (leave where you are staying at 7am) and get dropped off at the TTC and not have to worry about changing transportation. I think it will take more than 30 minutes to get from Epcot to the MK, the monorails don't run all that frequently, maybe every 15 minutes between Epcot and the TTC, especially in the morning. And the entrance at the MK will be a madhouse, so count on that taking some time, resort guests get in 30 minutes early to all theme parks, so they will all be there and on Disney transportation.
