Just a couple of questions about the photos that are taken at various rides. I don't recall seeing any info. about them on the boards (sorry if there was and I missed it!) How much are they? Where do you buy them? And what rides/attractions do they take the pictures on?
I'm sure we'll be wanting to buy some, so I thought I should add this to our budget! :) Only 4 more sleeps!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I haven't priced them lately, but I think they were $16.95 or $19.95, something like that. A trick I learned while at Walt Disney World was to take a snapshot of the picture while its on display, then you can customize it on your own.

There actually are not many rides that offer the photos. Splash Mountain, Tower of Terror, and California Screamin are the only ones I can think of right now.

You can't miss any of the photo places though. The rides that do have them will make sure that you pass right by them as you exit the ride.

The new Buzz Lightyear ride has a photo taken during the ride that you can e-mail to yourself (or anyone else) and it's free  :cheer2:

The other one I'm aware of is the Splash Mountain one taken during the log drop. It's usually quite blurry and the colors are a bit washed out. The Buzz picture is quite sharp and the colors are very nice. It also shows the scores of the two players.

Our Slash picture was a little fuzzy too but not bad, it was at a good angle so you could see everyone.
Our favorite is California Screamin'. We rode it like 7 times in arow the last night we were there. My youngest daughter was the first to find the camera. We have a totally awesome picture of the whole family-5 of us :cool1: . One of the DD leaned forward and it got all 5 of us in the photo. It was so cool, we just had to buy it. They will also adjust the lighting right there if you want before they print it.
They are always at the end of the ride- normally you can't miss the pictures. ::MinnieMo

We just purchased photos last week and they were $12.95 for the first 5x7, less for additional reprints. I can't recall the price of 8x10's since we didn't buy any. We purchased photos from California Screamin and Splash Mountain, plus a family photo in front of the castle with the girls "holding tinkerbell" (a digital graphic they add in). They took several photos with the kids with different characters throughout the park too but our digital photos turned out just as well so we didn't purchase any of those.

In December last year they were $12.95 for a 5x7.

The only ride photos are:
Splash Mountain (taken just as you go oere the final big drop)
Tower of Terror (taken as the doors open at the top of the lift drop)
California Screamin (taken at the end of the ride on the final bend)

In addition, park photographers will ask if you want pictures taken in front of the castle, at Ariel's grotto and often follow characters around.

You can purchase ride photos at the end of the ride (check the display and see if it is worthwhile) and castle and other general park photos from the shop at the end of Main Street near the Plaza Inn about 2 hours afterwards. (Tio - don't leave it til the end of the day as you'll be stuck in a big queue).

The California Screamin photo is usually pretty dull because it is at the end of the ride and hardly anyone knows where it is. Our Splash photo is a classic - two girls with looks of absolute terror on their faces and mum with her eyes screwed shut.

Wow, my daughter would LOVE something like that...with Tinkerbell added in. How do you get to do something like that?

When you're in front of the castle, they usually take a couple shots (3 in our case) and in one they'll tell the person (or 2 people in our case since there were two little girls in the middle) to hold out their hands like their holding pixie dust. Then when you go in to view your photos, the photo tech puts Tinkerbell on there. This seemed to be a pretty routine pose when I was watching others get their photos. The only "drawback" the photo guy said is that they can't put any other graphics on the photo like the 50th anniversary seal when they put tinkerbell in the photo (not real sure why) but the castle says 50th in the background so we didn't mind. It turned out very cute with the two girls holding Tinkerbell!

The person snapping photos also took photos with our two digital cameras so we got some good photos with our cameras and just the special tinkerbell one that we purchased.

Before Space Mountain closed for refurbishment there were pictures on it too. So, hopefully when it reopens in July they will have pictures again.

We have Tink in our pic too - its a free option they offer when you view the photos in the Main street photo shop.

It's a digital photo they show you on a computer screen - they just paste her in before they print.

Thanks so much for the info...we'll definitely do this :)

So where do you pick up the pictures? And how much are they?

When you're heading out of the park, the photo shop is the first store on your left on Main Street. The photos are available for you to view and purchase from 2 to 48 hours after they are taken.

Thanks so much for all this info! :goodvibes Once again the Diser's have come through and we have MORE great info. to add to our trip sheets! :cool1:

I once saw a Disney photographer around the BTMRR area taking photos of guests posing in front of a passing train.
