Ride Mix-In??

As far as I know, it has to be connected to an in-park event (reception, dessert party, etc), so I think anything in MK is out. Unless maybe they let you add it if you're doing the new MK ceremony site, but I don't know. I think for timing, they try to do it at park closing, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

^^This. You must be holding a private event in the park where you want the mix-in, and it must take place at the beginning or end of the ride's operating day. For example, we did an IllumiNations dessert party at UK Pubside and then, because the park was closing, were able to be escorted onto Soarin'.

Oh, I see. That's kind of a bummer! The timing of in-park receptions/dinner parties would be difficult for me to manage since I'm having my ceremony off property due to religious reasons.

I didn't realize that the ride mix-in was especially for in park private events. I guess it's kind of unheard of to have a ballroom reception at one of the hotels and have special transportation towards the end of the day to the parks, then?

Not just unheard of, they won't let you do it. It's an add-on perk of having an in-park event.

What if you did a dessert party in the evening, after your morning wedding and brunch/lunch? That's how we did it, and I really liked having something to look forward to after the reception and a little nap break! Or you could do a Welcome/Rehearsal dinner in the park and add a ride-mix-in.

We did Tower of Terror with a Fantasmic DP and had a blast... The slightly weird thing was they scheduled us for the first Fantasmic and our mix-in was before that so ours was during regular operating hours. We were escorted in through the FP+ line and had our own library for the video then our own elevator of course. Since we had our photographers with us they let us grab a couple shots

We also moved to an inside location (bamboo room) for our DP due to the risk of rain, ran late through the whole process and got rescheduled to the late Fantasmic which lead to us getting a cool location for the Frozen fireworks since we now had time to spare and then since we were now leaving after the park closed got to walk down Sunset Boulevard and got some amazing shots in the closed park!

Haha yes! And yes my photographer was amazing - I fell in love with Regina Hyman's work long before I booked my Disney wedding and contacted her about 4 months before I could contact Disney.
