Do crowd levels drop at Magic Kingdom enough during the Saturday afternoon parade to ride Winnie the Pooh, Buzz Lightyear, Space Mountain or Jungle Cruise with a short wait time?

Which major attractions are affected the most by the afternoon parade to beat the massive crowds?

Yes, there's a noticable dip in wait times around the parade for almost all of the major attractions. IIRC, the dip averages around 15 minutes on Space Mountain during the parade and shortly thereafter. But you'll still have a wait of more than 30 minutes on busy days, so this isn't as good as getting to the park early.

Hope this help!

Thanks. By the way I am trying to work a schedule of touring with my 2003 Unofficial guide, but will be in the Magic Kingdom on Saturday ( arriving around 2 pm) and Sunday (early on that day) on Veterans Day Weekend when I know crowds will be large. I do not want to see the parade twice so I want to hit some attractions that would be greatest effected during that time.
I also have (2) five year olds.

Suggestions?

your book says Adventureland/ Fantasyland/ Tomorrowland
are good bets during parades so I am looking there.

P.S. I love the book and have used it in 1997, 1998 and 2002.

When we went in Jan 2001, w/3 and 5 year olds - we hit Toontown Fair during one of the parades. We got to meet with the characters, get autographs, etc - with VERY little wait!!

Hi Palenque,

Thanks for reading the Guide!

If you're going to be at the MK early on Sunday, then I'd concentrate on Adventureland first, and Tomorrowland (TL) / Fantasyland (FaL) second. The overall time saved by EMH in those lands will be much larger than the dip in wait times caused by the parade. So I'd stick to Adventureland first, and perhaps some of the attractions that aren't big draws in TL and FaL if you have the time.

Hope this helps. Drop me a line if you have any other questions, though!

Sincerely,

Len
