Riddles are always fun-here are some to keep us entertained on this fine Sunday.

1. Before Mt. Everest was discovered, what was the tallest Mt. on land?

2. Where did King Arthur learn to joust?

3. What word sounds the same when you remove all but one of its letters?

4. Which weighs more-a pund of butter or a pound of salt?

5. A mother and father have 7 daughters. Every one of those faughters has a brother. How many people are in the family?

Here are five for now. If you want, you can post some new ones as these get answered. I don't know how we should work this...perhaps if you think you know you could PM it or post it in white lettering so as not to reveal the answers to those who are still thinking?

they're both a pound.
5. A mother and father have 7 daughters. Every one of those faughters has a brother. How many people are in the family
ten.

Muahahaha.

That works too, but I was thinking of a five letter word. :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2

Oh, be quiet! :p (I didn't cheat. :D )

At least I got the last question right!

Okay. I have another one:

How many birthday's does the average man have?

Mt. Everest
in Knight school
be
same
16

One, and I knew it before I saw the answers. ;)

Here's another. (btw, everyone is correct for those ones.)

--What number multiplied by itself is the same as that number added to itself?

--What's black, white, and read all over? (easy one)

--Two boys are standing on the edge of a field. A curvy road follows the edge. They race, and one boy cuts accross the field while the other takes the road. (The length of the road is onger than that of cutting accross.) Who does more work and why if they travel at the same speed and the cutter accrosser arrives first?

2.

A Newspapper.

Neither. The road is longer. The cutter would be doing less work if he didn't arrive first.

a zebra making strawberry jelly

well, work= distance x speed, if I'm remembering correctly, so they're doing hte same amount of work, since its longer to go across, but the cutter gets there first.

0 and 2 are correct answers
newspaper is correct, and we'll accept zebras with strawberry jam too
work is force x displacement. It's a trick question b/c the force is the same and the displacement is the same. (displacement is as the crow flies distance)
