Talk of RIDDLECON has reached the point where we want to decide on a weekend!

We are planning on gathering at Cedar Point Amusement Park near Sandusky, Ohio, sometime this summer. While ostensibly a riddlers' meet, we welcome everyone and anyone who'd like to join us for some fun and friendship!

It appears that we can qualify for a group discount if we get at least 15 people to come (thanks for the heads up on this, Sandi!)! That shouldn't be a problem, should it?

There are also accomodations on site

I have some open weekends in July and August, so I'll propose those first. If you have a suggestion for another weekend, write it in here. I'll signify each weekend with the date of the Saturday for that weekend.

Please vote for the weekends that work for you.

You can vote for multiple weekends!!! Simply check multiple boxes when you vote!

Let me know that you voted by responding to this too. THANKS! :)

Remember - any and all DISers are welcome! :)

Voted for all weekends except the 26th... I have a meet that weekend with another group from the DIS in the Hocking Hills, in Ohio but on the south side of the state. I'd hope to not have to choose between the two :)

We have rented a house at the beach for July 12 - 19, so those two are out, but the rest work for me. August 2 is my top choice.

DH,who thinks I am nuts when it comes to the DIS, has been researching the area and said we can go to the Football Hall of Fame and some other attractions. I will even go to the Hall of Fame if it means getting to the meet.

So, how often can we vote. Can I stuff the ballot box to make sure it is a weekend I can attend?

I should learn to read instructions FIRST. :p I voted for only one... but actually all of the dates would work for us (at this point my calendar is open in July/August other than the Fourth weekend).

I am getting excited about this! :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I voted for the 26th and 19th, but I am not sure about the 19th. I know August will be difficult for me since we are traveling to WDW again in August. DH and I plan to celebrate our 35th anniversary there and my __th birthday!:p

I voted for all of them!

All though I'm partial to the 12th as the 13th is my birthday & I was hoping for a bunch of presents from my riddle buds! (Shameless selfish mercenary plug here!)

Looking forward to meeting my riddle buds!

Diane - you got married when you were 4, right??

Happy 39th, in advance. :)

I voted for everything except the 19. My Dnephew is getting married that day.

39th!!!

No, OK, it is the 35th :p I was turning 21 and DH was 22.

I meant 39th BIRTHDAY, Diane! :)

So far the 26th is leading in the voting! :)

LOL!!! I WISH, OK! You would have to add a few decades there to be right!!:p

Please, please, please. Vote only if you are planning on coming. Many of us are arranging our summers to make this happen and we'd like together with as many of our friends as we can.

I'd appreciate it if you would post here to let me know that you have voted.

Your cooperation is appreciated.

Since we are planning to do Cedar Point as part of our Memorial Day DISmeet, I may end up purchasing a CP annual pass. I guess that I should have renewed my 2002 pass. I'll have to check the master calendar at home before I vote. The only weekend that I know for sure won't work for us is August 9th as we will be celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary that weekend.

Last year, Cedar Point offered early entry into the parks if you were staying at one of the CP resorts. Another thing to consider is that they reduce the admission price after 5PM, so if you arrive the day before, you can spend some quality time in the parks for a bit less coin.

We tried to get a group rate last year, but it was difficult to find 15 people who hadn't already bought annual passes. With so many coming from out of state, you may have better luck Bernie.

As far as side trips go, Carol mentioned the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Depending on the weekend you pick, you might end up being able to attend the induction ceremony which usually happens around the last weekend in July. There's also the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame in downtown Cleveland.

I am not opposed to having another picnic this summer to compliment RiddleCON. But I suppose that I should as DW Sue first.

I'm not voting because I have no idea what DH's job situation will be by this summer. It's not looking very good right now. :( If he should have a new job, he may not be able to take off that soon.

I'll be looking forward to hearing the date you choose. Maybe we can add on later if it works out for us.

Hmmm.. well one of those dates is my anniversary... how far is it to Ohio from MA?? to drive it.. what do you think?? just curious.. maybe I will drive up to Maine and pick up Pumba.. it could happen.. ;) :)

Marsha - we're loooking at about 6 hours from here. I thin you are probably another 5 - 5.5 hours from Boston.

It would be great to see you and Marie there! :) TOMMY TOO! :)

Wow, John! That would be above and beyond the call of duty! :) (but very NICE too!)

I'd be happy just to see you at Cedar Point and maybe ride one of those awesome coasters with you!

Hope to see you there! :)

Merry - I hope things work out soon! :)

Would you believe that a meet at WDW would be easier for me to go to? :D
