This is my 19th anniversary. I'm off to take a shower and get together a gift for DH. Unfortunately he is home sick in bed with a temperature. This may be an uneventful evening.

Merry....Sorry to hear that you DH still is feeling under the weather...did you decide on the gift basket? That sounded like a good plan to me and would probably cheer DH up too, in SPITE of his fever! Hope he feels better soon and you can celebrate then!!

He's feeling better tonight, no temperature or chills. We left the kids home with a pizza and video games and went out for a steak dinner together. It was lovely.

Yes, I went ahead with the gift basket. I put in a romantic CD of music that we used to listen to a lot when we were dating, strawberry dauquiri mix, dauquiri glasses, Egyptian cotton sheets, a Yankee Candle (clean cotton), linen fragrance spray for the sheets. He gave me a day of pampering at the local spa including gourmet lunch, hair cut, pedicure, manicure, facial. He spoils me. I'll probably wait until the kids are back in school to schdule it, since it'd be easier to take a day all to myself.

So all in all we had a good day. It is deadly hot here! I heard it got to around 103 or 104. The humidity is high and I just can't stand it. Wish I could head to Colorado for the duration of the summer. It's even hot in the house with the air conditioning on.

Merry! SO glad to hear that your DH was feeling well enough to go out and enjoy a special dinner on your special day! I'm glad the gift basket was appreciated and a day of pampering sounds WONDERFUL to me!!! Good idea to save it for when it will give you the most enjoyment!!!!
