Another dreary forecast for the weekend here.

would swear we were in Seattle ...

Oh, btw ... I have to tell you all an amusing story that
happened this week.

OK, so I've moved into a new condo now and the place is
empty ...

I ordered a kitchen table/chairs from N.Carolina about 8 weeks ago.
The delivery company calls over the weekend to confirm that
they should arrive on Monday, 2-6pm.
So I leave work early and am waiting all afternoon.
I get a call at 6:15pm from "the boys", who are now on their
way to my place.
Seems they are "stuck in Joisey", I think maybe Gina was chewing the fat with them or something.
Anyway, they really called to ASK FOR DIRECTIONS!
A delivery company calling me to ask for directions?
And when "the boys" from N.Carolina arrived finally at 8:30pm,
looking like they had been driving all day and were wearing
torn and battered clothes that the Salvation Army would have
rejected, I really just had to laugh at the whole situation.

And guess what, I wasn't the last delivery ... they still had one more. Someone was going to get their sofa at 10pm or later...
Just comical ... LOL

Anyway sorry for the long story but I thought it funny ... LOL

TXTIGGR, good to see you. Doesn't that just burn you up about delivery men? I do home care, that is, I go to people's homes to give them physical therapy. They want to know EXACTLY when I am coming. Between 10 and 11 isn't good enough for some people. How do delivery people, who never run into medical complications, get away with "I'll be there Tuesday," and people accept that.

Not much time to catch up here, just wanted to give a quick hello to all!

Good morning everyone!

So Rob - what's the new furniture look like?! Hmmmm??? Inquiring minds want to know (well at least mine!).

Busy day here for me today. This afternoon is the start of our American Cancer Society Relay for Life. I am part of the Voltswalkers Team from my Public Utility District that I work for. We have a great group - and I think we were the high earning team from the whole event (won't know until Saturday afternoon when they announce our financial results) - but we contributed well over $10,000 as a team. WOOOHOO for US!!!

I love to participate in this event... it is fun, and a great social gathering... but it is also very sobering and inspiring. I did a picture post about it two years ago (can you believe I have been lingering around here that long?) trying to capture the event with words and pictures. Hard to do. So no Harry Potter midnight parties for this family... we will be up til midnight walking and Lindsay and I have the 4:00 am Saturday morning walking shift... so we will be back on the track EARLY. Not to worry though... I preordered our Harry Potter book from Amazon - and just checked the site... it has been shipped and should be here no later than Wednesday.
