Riddle me this!

Gaspode, I only know of Letterman, David, the late night talk show host. However, if it comes from Alan, obscure as it may be, it must be for real.

Is everyone having a good day? I am too bored to be working, so I am leaving!

See you all later, the pool is calling..............

Indeed!
But as I've said.... is this really any different from usual? ;)
Cya,
Gaspode

Letterman was from Electric Company, a PBS program in the 70's. I loved it as a kid.

Between the Lions does some similar programming, but this had a lot of phonics and segments with Easy Reader (Morgan Freeman) and Spider Man!

I remembered Letterman's opening narration and when I went to find the picture discovered that he was voiced by Gene Wilder and his narration was done by Joan Rivers.

It's not THAT obscure...I'll bet plenty of folks remember him.

Am I right?

I said, am I right???

anyone????

THE 70'S????

You don't want to know, Alan. You just don't WANT TO KNOW.

....or maybe I just don't want to tell you...... ;)

Yes, I am a mere child...wet behind the ears and terribly naive, so please be careful.

I always had the pleasure of being the youngest in the group but now younger and younger folks are coming into work, different social groups etc.

And there are plenty of people who post here that make ME feel older. (Oh yes, I remember the 80's...I was born in 1987..etc...)

Besides, I'm still watching cartoons and children's programming in 2003, so it's hard to tell isn't it?

Where is Bernie anyway?

It seems that work has been keeping the Riddlemeister, MeisterRiddler from popping in during the day like he used to.

I don't remember Letterman, but I do remember The Electric Company. Morgan Freeman was a regular for awhile on that show.

No time to read the thread right now. I asked DD and she came up with the same answer. That's always encouraging. PM on it's way, Bernie. I'll check back and respond to everyone when I have a spare minute.

I don't MEAN to sound MEAN about what it MEANS but if you don't MEAN it, that would MEAN you MEAN to be loonier than I MEAN. Did you MEAN it??? :p ;)

Alan, you are not alone! I loved the Electric Company and Letterman. Did you like School House Rock also? I just bought two of the videos for my kids. I was surprised at how many of the songs I could still remember.

"I'm just a bill, yeah I'm only a bill, and I'm sitting here on Capitol Hill..."

"A noun is a person, place, or thing..."

"Conjuction Junction, what's your function..."

etc, etc, etc.

*raises hand* yep...I'm an Electric Company junkie too....

and my kids have the SHR videos.....that was CLASSIC Saturday morning.

I remember Letterman vaguely.....DH payed waaaaaay more attention to that stuff than I did...lol

I must be too old and the kids too young for me to remember this.
