DS and DD have off of school today. I am waiting for another flooring installer to come and give an estimate this morning. This is so ridiculous. I have called at least 6 people so far and can't get anyone to give a written estimate in a reasonable amount of time. Doesn't anyone want to work and make money anymore? Let's keep our fingers crossed for today and hope we can finally get moving on this. Diane - I don't know how you can stand building a whole house. I can't handle a simple addition! I know the end result will be worth it, but it is very frustrating.

Oh boy!!! What a start to my day. I looked at these riddles, tilted my head to the side and went blank. I feel like I am back in college again

LK....no one gets the job without a written estimate in this household. And by and large these days....no one wants to take the time to write one.

It's very, very frustrating. I can rely on one plumber and one GC to give me complete written estimates. Oh....also one wallpaper hanger. The rest? They come...throw you a number....sometimes don't get back to you....if you have to chase them to get an estimate....what's it going to be like when you need the job completed???

We had an oil tank filled with sand last summer. It was such a nightmare getting the job started and the paperwork completed (and sent to the town) that I swore I'd kill the guy by the time it was over. And he came recommended.
