Riddle me this! (Psst....LTM - OVER HERE!!)

Yes, sad but true. Luckily, it was the most gawd awful weather last week so I truly feel he did himself a favor.

The wost part about it is it's on his computer....the whole department's vacation schedule is on computer....NO ONE ELSE NOTICED EITHER!

The man needs a lobotomy. Or a vacation. (Maybe a new wife????)

Yes, Marla, he can reschedule. Unfortunately, his work life is so complicated that I don't know when he'll be able to fit it in.

And just on Sunday I was complaining he doesn't remember one thing I ever plan......

HE NOW DOESN'T REMEMBER ONE THING HE plans either.......

Okay - here's a neighborhood ethics question.

We have a neighbor who has a most adorable little girl. The little girl is four years old. We have, over the years, passed on lots of toys and clothing to her that our girls have outgrown.

Well, our neighbor has been running garage sales for the past year or so. She's had a half dozen or so sales.

Guess what she's selling??? Yep - all the stuff we gave her!

So - would this bother you?

Yeah, it would. I would have appreciated it if she had told me she no longer needed it and wanted to know if I wanted it back or if she could sell it. Or if she could sell it and split the proceeds. Or if she could pass it on. Not to say anything is rather boorish.

I hate conducting yard sales so I probably would never sell my own stuff....but I'd donate it next time and take the tax deduction......

Am I also right in understanding that you may have passed on some clothing that would be too big for a 4 year old....and she's selling clothes she hasn't used?

That would REALLY piss me off.

Yep! I would stop sharing. She obviously doesn't need the stuff. When we passed things on to my SIL for her kids, she always asked if we wanted it back when she was done. We said no, and then she sold things like the crib etc., but that was after asking.

Yep - she has sold stuff she never used.....

Gina,
Am I hearing you right?? He forgot he was suppossed to be on vacation and went to work the entire week???

Bernie,

Yes, that would bother me. I probably wouldn't do any more passing of hand me downs to this woman.

Bernie, I would be so steamed I couldn't see straight. What I couldn't see or know about wouldn't matter. BUT RIGHT UNDER MY NOSE????

I think I might ask for the stuff back. Politely. Tell her there is another family member in need. Let's see her face when she doesn't have it to give back!

Sharon was pretty ticked straight away. I didn't see it at first, but the more I think about it.....

They are pretty good neighbors otherwise.

We heard from the city yesterday about the permanent easment settlement and the tree damage etc. DH left a LENGTHY message on the city adm. voice mail Monday, and yesterday they called me. The area of taking was just over 29,000 sq ft. or a little more than half an acre (they had a error on the original that said it was an acre). They offered us $25,000 for that. I asked if the 38,000 sq. ft. triangle between us and the intersection that has no outlet except through our property could be negotiated instead of a monetary sum. He seemed open to that idea. That would help us be able to list our property as development again, and thus would make the value back at what it was originally at last fall. I find it amazing that they wanted $66,000 for that 38,000 sq ft piece last fall when we asked them about it, but they would pay only about $35,000 if they were to "buy" it from me!

That would be wonderful Bernie, thank you!!! I look forward to seeing it. :) :)

He forgot his vacation!!!!!!!!! Oh my.........

You screamed? You, Gina? LOL.....:p

Have you all heard about Sammy Sosa this morning?

Seems he got caught using a corked bat!!!

Say it ain't so, Sammy!!!

Well Bernie - personally I would ask for my stuff back and not give her any more in the future

Yes Bernie I just heard that here

Cheesh, Diane - that's quite a markup!!!

Yes, Sandi....you read it correctly. He was scheduled for vacation last week....ALL of last week....and didn't figure it out til Tuesday. Poor guy.

I guess I must be driving him crazier than I thought......:p

Bernie....if I didn't see the clothes being sold I would have never thought twice about it. Usually I just want to get the stuff out of the house. No questions asked....no answers required. And I don't care where it ends up. But to see the stuff being sold right under my nose....without being asked to participate in the proceeds or even being asked if it's okay....well, that's just rude.

This woman may get alot of clothing from yardsales, relatives, friends and neighbors. She may have lost track of who gave her what. It looks terribly ungrateful, quite frankly.

Now the question becomes....what the heck do you do to get rid of the stuff next time????

I was watching that on SC last night. He came on and tried to defend himself. I felt betrayed! I have always liked him.

Good morning OK and the Corral

It is one of those mornings.

DD needed a car for school today but last night the temperature gauge on my car went way high and it was only blowing cold air. Looks like a trip to the repair shop this AM and one less car. She called a friend for a ride but the one working car has to take everyone where they need to be before I can have it.

We had the band concert last night. Very nice. More later. Also have an awards banquet tonight. Need to make sure both kids have clean, dressy clothes.

The electricity went off this morning but is back now. Have to reset all the clocks. Luckily we woke up early or the alarms would not have been waking us.

I hope to stop back later to read the thread and comment more.

PM sent.

Got to run.
