Riddle me this! *Fresh and minty!*

What do they say about those mints, Gina???

Hiya, Kim! Sweet Pea???

Me? Fresh & Minty?? ...... I'm not all that minty.... ;-)

GOOD MORNING OK AND THE WHOLE CORRAL

A foggy morning here but it is supposed to brighten up.

Rained last night on the kids while we canoed, that was OK but everyone raced back to base with the first crack of thunder. Rules for the course say as soon as lightening and thunder start, get off the water. That cut their time a little short but there are still several weeks left.

pm on the way

Good morning, Len! Here's hoping for a nice stretch of clear weather for you all! :-)

Tee hee, Bernie.....you remember when the mints were not packaged and in a bowl ..... with or without a spoon! LOL LOL LOL LOL

Len, I hope you didn't take canoeing lessons from Bernie. Rumour has it he always falls in!!!!

:teeth:

What are the names for, Gina?

I'm surprised I got this one today. We were up late steam cleaning the upstairs hall and stair carpets.

I have a bit of good news to report. Yesterday, the city council accepted our offer of exchange for the permanent easment they took last fall for the sewer. When they cut all those trees down and took the permament easment, it caused our sale to fall through. Now the easment messes up setbacks so a developer would NOT be interested in our property. There is a just under 1 acre parcel to our south that is locked in with no access acept through our property. We suggested they "give" us that piece instead of compansating us for the easment. They agreed, and now our property becomes a candidate for develpment again, since the setbacks will be satisfied. There has been a buyer in the wings waiting for this decision, so now we have to get the place ready to show! He is coming on Friday.

That's good news, Diane! Good luck on Friday! :)

I have the old annual physical this morning! Sorry, that one needed a REAL smiley! :)

No Gina no lessons from the meister this is a Scouts summer program for kids. However since Bernie is a kid at heart we could always take him along. We are working on canoe over canoe rescues this week if you are interested OK.

I remember that from my scouting days, Len!

These days, I do seem to make any canoe I'm in a bit top-heavy!!! :-)

Have fun, Sandi! :-)

Best of luck Diane....sounds like this is just what you need to sell the property.

SillyBilly....you callin' me a goat Gina!!!!

Yesterday I had one of those, " I'm kind of going to miss this place" days. I walked around our woods remembering some of the great times we have had out here. I wont miss the darkness caused by all the big trees, but the great cool shade will be missed, the privacey, the owls and fawns who come up to the windows, the lack of grass to mow... But then we went out to the new place and enjoyed all the sunshine, deer in the driveway, pheasants, wild turkeys, blue birds and wind, and I felt better about it again!

Waxing a little nostalgic, Diane?? I can understand that....

But I'm sure you're going to make so many nice memories in your new place too.....

Did I tell you folks about the wild turkey that tried to get inside the new house a while back? I was sweeping up sawdust out there, and had the french doors open. The deck isn't on yet, so they are high above the ground. I heard a squacking noise, and looked up just in time to see a big wild turkey hen flying right for my open french doors! I started waving my broom around, and she veered off, but I almost had her in the house with me! We find birds in there every once in awhile. The workers leave the doors open during the day, and it is such a large open space in there, the birds just make themselves at home. Of course, then when we come in the morning, they are banging at the windows trying to get out!

Diane - a few years ago a friend of mine had a disaster with a wild turkey. He lives in a development that abuts some wild lands. It seems that one of his neighbors was experimenting with a new turkeu call.

Anyhoo, my friend wasn't home at the time - he and his family had gone out.

When they returned, they noticed that their front picture window was completely smashed in! When they went into the house, there was a wild turkey in there, running amok inside the house! It made an awful mess and completely terrorized their little shih tzu!!!

They weren't real happy with their neighbor!

Oddly enough - I have another wild turkey story!

Two years ago, on our return trip from Thanksgiving in Massachusetts, we were tooling along the Thruway and I was passing a pickup truck with a king cab. I noticed a flash of something out of the corner of my eye and looked over just in time to see a wild turkey rolling over the top of the pickup! I don't know how the guy kept control, but he managed to pull the pickup over. His windshield was starred, but only a few fragments fell into the cab. Everybody was fine, just completely freaked out, as you can imagine!!

And I have another wild turkey story!

But it involves college-age mentality and a drinking glass.

We don't need to go there....:-)

Pay no attention to that man beind the curtain...

Good morning all! I had one of those great days yesterday  After work, I went over to visit a friend while she was in town from Mexico with her daughter. I stayed much later than I thought and then I stopped at my dad's to drop off our steam cleaner for him. Well about 30-45 minutes later... KABOOM! Transformer blew again  So I aws w/o power for an hour or so last night. We have formal complaints lodged due to our bad power (not just from recently from the two years we've been there) and now a full investigation is going on. So we hope that we won't have to deal with the random power outages that happen here.

Okay, call me dense... I still don't get the riddle from yesterday

Gail, congrats to Matt and his team!!! That is great news!!!!

Len, I hope clear weather is headed your way! Sorry to hear that canoe time was cut short due to the storm

Diane, I am so happy to hear about the settlement!! That is great news for you all!!

Oh my!!! What turkey stories you have. The best one I have involves Thanksgiving :p

Off to ponder the riddle!
