I read something in a paper so went to www.imdb.com seemingly last august Ricky Martin became the father of twin boys by using a surrogate

Welcomed twin sons Matteo and Valentino by gestational surrogate in early August 2008.

What to people here think of the growing number of men choosing to become single parents by using a surrogate mother instead of the traditional way?

Not all men want a relationship with a woman, but still want to be fathers.

I have no problem with it at all, if he wants to be a father and has the means to be a single father more power to him. His boys are gorgeous too.

Sounds like he knows what he wants and with his money and family the boys should have a great up bringing As has been said no different to a woman who has a child but doesn't want a partner to help bring them up.

He has a partner, but since said partner is male, they cannot reproduce together.

I don't think of a man parenting a child any differently than I do a woman choosing to become a single parent when she has her life and finances is in order and is emotionally capable of being a good parent.

I think it's fine. I personally wish that adoption laws were more lax in letting gays/ single parents adopt. But, until that happens, by all means this is great for them.
