A friend of mine has just come back from Orlando, she was on the extremely overbooked Virgin flight that Rick Walmsley got bumped off, and I'm sure that when he comes home and gets back on the boards, he will be extremely relieved that he was not on that flight. After an hours delay taking off at Manchester, the plane on arriving at Orlando, the passengers had to endure being stuck on the plane on the tarmac for 2.5 hours with no air-conditioning.Apparently all of the computers at the airport had crashed,so they had to stay on the plane until they fixed them. There was no air-conditionong due to the fact that the pilot made up for the hours delay but had no fuel left to have the air-con switched on  Eventually when they got off the plane there were 4other jumbos that had been stuck on the tarmac,so the queues at immigration were horrendous. They ended up leaving the airport 6.5 hours after they touched down.Bet Rick will be well pleased he was bumped off the flight:D

What a horrible start to those passengers holiday:(

From my memories of Orlando airport, that's not much longer than it takes to get through it without the delays ;)

Last November we landed at 4pm,( and if it wasnt for some guy in front of us in immigration having more paper than a paper mill to enter the country, every time the offical asked him another question out came another load of papers, would have loved to know what he had done to warrant all that paper work,)would have saved 15mins,) and were in the car ready to leave the carpark at 4.50pm,that included the carhire insisting on giving us lessons on how to drive the car, even though we had been before, but he was a sweet guy, and we booked into our hotel at 5.30pm.

That sounds horrendous and I do feel for your friend.
