After having stayed at the OKW recently, I was awed by the size of it. Having stayed at BWV's 1 br, the difference is quite substantial. THe living area feels like you're really home, and I love the sofa AND love seat :)

I will be staying at BCV (home resort) this week as it will only be 2 days at Disney and 2 at Hard Rock HOtel Universal and being in EPCOT area is a must for my sis as she LOVES Espn every nite :)

BUt you're truly on vacation at OKW....I even had the bellman send someone to carry in my 14 bags of groceries, LOL.....college students, you see, they know when to make themselves scarce :)

Glad I tried OKW,,,it's my new favorite for a longer vacation ,,,Right on Rich!

We just got back from OKW and were similarly hooked. We stayed in a 2-bedroom with my parents and it was GLORIOUS. I kept telling my dh how crummy our own home was going to look upon return -- it needs painting and doesn't have the lanscaping like OKW!

I was warned here, and sure enough, plans for a week in June in a studio seemed less appealing after the big room at OKW. We were planning on a BCV studio but have instead booked a 1-bedroom at OKW. The whole environment there is so calm and nice -- I must have more OKW! We loved Olivia's and the ferry ride, and the kids loved having a room by the canal. We fed the fish and ducks all week. The pools are great. Everything about the whole place was perfect. I can't wait to return in June!

Colleen: Glad you had a good time, can't miss there! Do you remember what building/rm you stayed in, on the canal? I didnt get around to using the ferry,is it a pontoon/deck type boat? How long did it take to get to DD...and does it also go to MGM? I still havent got that mental map of the world yet, LOL.

Thanks....Mary

Mary, we stayed in building #55. It is way down the end of the property on a cul de sac and backs up onto the canal. It was perfect for us. Being out in the boondocks was fine as we had our van. We were in #5512 and we could throw bread off the verandah to feed the ducks and fish. My kids were in heaven!

OKW is near Downtown Disney, so that is where the boat takes you. Everywhere else is accessible by bus. We used the buses a few times and they ran very regularly. The boat is called the Trumbo Ferry and it begins at noon every day, running every twenty minutes til 9 or 10pm. It is a big pontoon boat that seats about 12 people. There is a tarp over some of the seats for shade. The ride to Downtown Disney is about 15 minutes and my kids were thrilled to go by our room. The driver got in close and they waved and saw our deck, a big deal to an 8 year old and a 5 year old. We love OKW!

Now don't everyone jump on the OKW band wagon all at once. I, for one, kinda like the fact that when I call for a ressie they always say every day you need is available at OKW and I say, great, I'll take it!

Colleen, thanks for the info, Im going to add it to my "room suggestions list" :)

Dbond, I hear ya bud :) Mum's the word! LOL
