Hello,

Has anybody got first hand experience of this?

My DF is car mad and would love to do a track day but they are soooo expensive!

I am looking at getting him this as a gift when we go on holiday next year, we are going to my first choice place again so it cant hurt to give him a nice day. Plus I figured I could go to the GF spa while he is busy!

He would HATE the drive along one so prices would start at $403 to $1330 is it worth it?

I was chatting to my Aunt's sister's husband at a funeral on Saturday, and he was telling me that he had done the Richard Petty experience last year, although I think it was at either Daytona or Indianapolis, rather than the WDW Speedway.....However, its gonna be pretty much the same thing.
He said he deliberated over which experience to do, and in the end decided that (a) He couldnt really afford the drive yourself package, and (b) He wasnt going to get even close to the speed he would get to if he was with a professional, so he went for the passenger option. He was telling me something about having to wear a liquid filled race suit, because of the heat or something, but He said the speeds were breathtaking, and each time a bend approached he expected the driver to slow down, but they didnt, they just took each corner full pelt.
Im not a Nascar fan myself, although I will watch it if its on.....I prefer IRL myself.

Hi Jodie,
I did the Richard Petty experience at WDW last year as a birthday suprise from my wife/mom and i have to say it was a fantastic day. If he is car mad he will love it.

From what they said on the day the main difference is between the WDW and Daytona one is it more controlled on resort because of it being on Disneys property, Was told if i ever did it again i would be able to drive as fast as i wanted in daytona, where at the WDW they keep your speed down a little but saying that i still did a top speed of 118mph during the 8 laps you do.

if theres anything else you want to know plese feel free to pm me :)

Chas
