You don't have to drive a stick...I believe they have automatics too. My DH just did this and it was awesome. We were there about 3-3.5 hours. You can get great pics..you are near the track and we got great pics of them getting him ready and some wonderful video! Well worth it!

If they have automatics, it would have to be just in the last 6 months or so. When DH did it, you definitely had to know how to drive a standard.

My DH and stepdad just did the Rookie experience when we were there last week. They both LOVED it! It was definitely worth the $$. It was my DH's Christmas present, and my mom did the same thing for my stepdad. I think it was great that they got to go together. My stepdad even said he would do it again, and that's pretty high praise for a guy like him. They both talked about it quite a bit the rest of the day and mentioned it often the rest of the trip. The pictures from Petty are not that expensive ($37 for 2 5x7's) and are better shots than you'll get with your camera. The "winning" team also gets a free photo of the team. The max speed on the track is 122 mph. All in all, they both said it was a "very cool" experience.

Thanks for the website! Hubby has been "chatting".. hinting... about this for the last couple of weeks now!

This place is so great! I never thought about using AAA. I just booked my DH for our May trip and saved $80! For those booking - my first choice in dates was booked so book early!
