Has anyone done this? My DH will be doing the Rookie Experience when we go in April. I got a little nervous when we received the waiver form in the mail! :scared1: He is so excited, I hope he enjoys it.

OMG! My DH loved the RPDE!! He also did the "rookie" and still talks about like it was yesterday! (It was 4 years ago!) We took our older kids at the time. It was very LOUD. The rookies take a class, get into a jumpsuit and then it's off for a tour of the track in a van. (All of the KIDS were also loaded up into a van for a ride around the track, speeding along about 70mph! they thought that was AWESOME! Then, when it was time for the drivers to climb into the stockcars (thru the windows!), the kids got to announce the race car drivers! There were multiple racers on the track at one time. An experience that will be remembered for a LONG time. :thumbsup2

Are there medical conditions that would prevent someone from doing this?

We're taking my FIL to Disney with us, and I know he'd love a ride-a-long, but he's 71 years old and has a defibulator (I think that's what it's called) not sure if that would be a reason to not let him.

We'll have our children with us too. I'm sure the boys would love to ride in the van but I'm not too sure my DD would! I think I will be so nervous watching him. You said there were multiple drivers, were they a safe distance apart? BTW how old were your children?

I would talk to your FIL's cardiologist. I know the waiver said you have to be in good health, don't remember the details, that may have been for the driving experience and not for the ride-a-long. I would give them a call and find out if there are limitations for the ride-a-long.
