Richard Petty Driving Experiance by disney?

I was told that the RPDE is right outside the front gates at disney in flordia? We are honemooning at the Polynesian in July and wondered if anyone did the Petty experience there and if it was fun and worth it? I would prolly only do the ride along and if its fun later down the road do a better experiance.

I believe its as you are coming into the Magic Kingdom parking lot. anyhow, I got the ride a long experience for my dh. He had the biggest smile on his face when he got out of the car. I want to go with the whole family in November of this year and I would really like to get him the driving experience. He just loved it! Have fun!

I bought it as a Christmas Gift for myself!

All I can say ~ Want to do it again!

It's an half day event and the adreneline rush is unbelievable!

I was the only woman who was there that afternoon and many a time wanted to bow out! So glad that I didn't, plus couldn't after DD said to me "Mom, I've never known you to chicken out of anything!"

My biggest fear was staling the car but after someone else did that, well........

I have not driven a "stick" for a very long time but managed.

My top speed was 106 MPH! I did the Rookie Experience which gives you eight laps around the track. By the eighth lap, I wanted more!LOL

It was an experience of a lifetime and the people at the Track are wonderful!

They also have a shuttle service that will pick you up by the Kennels at the TTC.

If you have a passion for NASCAR, this is a definate MUST DO!

I bought this for my DH last year. He also did the rookie expierence. I think it was right around $350.00. He is aching to do it again. The also hav a ride along that runs about $100 I believe.

I surprised my DH with this a few years ago, and he still talks about it!! He absolutely loved it and looks forward to doing it again in a few years. It was the best gift I ever gave him (except for our boys of course )

You should definitely do this!!!!!

my DH works for GMC and he won this at a contest. he got to do the whole day thing. Breakfast in the am, prep, trial, and then off to the races. He loved it!! They give out 2/3 trips a year at his job for a good incentive, and it works!!!

Does anyone know the top speed allowed?

It all depends on how your lead car feels you are doing.

We had one guy that went 119 mph!

I believe they won't let you go over the 120 mark for the Rookie and I heard that for the King's Experience it's 125 mph but not 100% sure.

Thanks for the replys. Ill see how the funds are when we get there as to wether I try it. I would want to drive though and not just ride along. But if you think about the pricing for the higher up ones....could almost just get a cheap pure stock and race for a few weeks at your local dirt track. Humm thats a good idea
