Richard Hammond critically injured

Supposidly he's making a excellent recovery; hoping he gets back on the TG track soon!! :goodvibes

Not really a top gear fan but loved hims on the Richard Hammond Show although why he bothered with that woman i don't know (was it Mel or Sue). Hope he gets better soon.

He's apparantly now in the General Ward. He'll be back on the telly in no time flat. :goodvibes

They now say he's making very good progess now, and will hopefully be moved to a hospital closer to home now if things continue to work as swiftly as they are now.

I sure hope he can get back to Top Gear soon. :goodvibes

I hope he is back home with his family soon.

Didn't know about this until I got home from DLP ~ Sounds as though he is making a remarkable recovery.

Richards family have asked for donations for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and likely fans have donated over £200,000 already. Such a good response!

He has now been transferred to his local hospital so good news.

It showed him on the midday news being transported by helicopter back to a hospital near his home. Good news.

Just read on Yahoo that his consultant neurosurgeon predicts the Hamster could be "back to his old self" within six months, which is fab news! :thumbsup2

All excellent news. I wonder why he had to be airlifted? Was it essential or was it posterity reasons or maybe for the show?

Within 6 months does sound forever, but with this kind of injury that's a good thing.

Word on the net is that Hammond wants the show to go on ahead without him, and he was the footage shown as well..

Whilst I haven't been able to find the source to this, I'd think it noble for him to allow this to happen if it were true. Well done Hamster!

just saw him on the new WALKING into the bristol hospital :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I saw that too; great news isn't it?!

The sooner he recovers the sooner I can feel at ease whenever I hear his name. Sad I know, but oh so true!!

They now say that his recovery is so good that he maybe back to normal in 2 to 3 weeks! That's very good news; it just goes to show how resilient his recovery system is. :thumbsup2

The Daily Mirror are advertising that they have an exclusive of Richard Hammond's story starting in the paper tomorrow.
