Rich mom hires handicapped tour guide to cut lines

One year I could barely walk due to sprained ankle but I would not use a wheelchair to cut lines.

One year at King's Island about 3 weeks after a C/S, my parents were in town and my older kids wanted to go...Hubby got me a wheel chair, but we didn't use it for any advantage, except to prevent me from having to walk around the park.

I would never have used it for any advantage, because I couldn't ride and I didn't want to teach my children that it was ok to do something like that.

There are people out there who really need assistance. Some parks are doing away with their versions of the GAC, for these exact reasons. I think at one point in time Dollywood used to offer a non-rider ticket (due to age/disability), but were forced to stop because of abuse/lawsuits.

Came across an article article on Yahoo today. Speaking about the rich in NYC using disabled persons as guides in order to cut long lines. this is dispicable. This has been a long point of mine, about these motorized chairs. Ive seen people use these all over the parks, but when it comes time to get on a ride, just hop out and take their whole family to the front of a line. The Disney company says they are going to do something about it, but really can they do? Other tha speak with the persons using the chairs, but that would be rude, and I dont see anyone doing that.
Its a shame that a group like these tourists use a courtesy, and turn it into an advantage.
DIS panel, what are your thoughts on this?

I think these folks are confused about which 1% they are. *hint* it's not the good one.

Ticket prices aren't the problem. It's having a set of standards by which you live - and living by them. Common decency. Knowing that your good time is not more valuable than anyone else's good time.

Good for the handicapped folk who were charging those prices. If you're going to be an entitled donkey than by dog you should pay for it.

It is the 1% of those who think that because they are part of the "good" 1% that they are entitled to everything and that the world revolves around them. That the rules do not apply to them. They are "hiring" someone to give the a tour of Disney, but get the advantage of using GAC because their guide has a disability...you know those 1% have to show how compassionate they are by giving those disabled people jobs...

I once saw a CM enter the line and take a GAC card from a family. She said the card was altered and took it so they do crack down.

This article was just tabloid. Small World does not have a 2 1/2 hour wait and I doubt the wheelchair wait for the special boat is one minute.

A few days ago, a lady in WDW payed a handicapped woman $1000 to go to a park with her to skip lines. I think that's just awful, but i think it would be fun to be payed to go to Disney. What do YOU think?
