Depends on how many people you are feeding and if you want your rice cooker to steam vegetables. Aroma is a good brand. Also one with a warm feature is nice.
just looking for a cheap one. I see a lot of them are over $100, but that seems excessive for just cooking rice. Unless they really do a great job???? I was thinking more about just a pressure cooker in the $30 range, but maybe that's a bad idea?
I use one from Pampered Chef - nothing fancy at all. Just cooks rice in the microwave. The rice doesn't stick and it is dishwasher safe.
Although I'm sure you can get it off ebay, here is a link to the site (although I used to sell the stuff years ago - which is when I got mine - I no longer sell it) http://www.pamperedchef.com/our_products/catalog/product.jsp?productId=9805&categoryCode=KW
I have an Aroma. Fairly cheap and works very well. I think it came from Target. We use about once a week and have had it for a long time. It has the warm feature.
As far as I'm concerned any rice cooker that cooks rice! I love, love, mine cause I can't cook rice for nothin. I've tried and tried and I either don't put enough water or I take the lid off too soon or I don't time it right-who knows. I know, it's the easiest thing to make but I am a goof when it comes to rice cooking so I just use my rice cooker-done with it. I spent about $25 about 10 years ago and it's a Salton. Some mystery brand but it works great and is done in about 15 minutes and clean up is a breeze.
