RFID turnstiles at EPCOT

Wrist band are for larger "high powered" RFID which can be read from a significant distance. These create significant privacy and id# theft issues. I do not think WDW is going to implement anything with that strong a "big brother state (company)" capability due to potential backlash.
The RFID in that they are testing as about 1/4 the size of a grain of sand and have a very limited range (I would guess and inch or 2) so they greatly reduce those concerns, since you have to affimitavly move it to a scanner for it to be read.

They may be capable of larger RFID chips, doesn't mean they will be used as such.

Of course, Disney just saying they won't will not appease the conspiracy theorists, much like the finger scans...

What are the wristbands made of? Are they hypoallergenic? Can you take them off and put them back on? Just curious . . . .

I'm guessing they are 100% silicone and eco-friendly. Based on what I've read the wristbands are supposedly lightweight, heat resistant, water resistant and quite comfortable. I'm buying one in every color to coordinate with our outfits -- if and when they decide to use the wristbands. This is so exciting, I knew it!

I found one more pic on google. This is the Mickey blink signal, quite similar to the blink signal on the Chase Visa, it's too cute!

Just an update! The "turnstiles" where they were testing at Epcot are boarded up now. No testing is taking place.

They were testing this morning when we got there a few minutes after rope drop.
