I received a notice to renew our Florida seasonal passes (4 of them for about $700). The only way I could use our rewards card balance was to buy them at one of the parks - which involved an $8 parking fee even though we were not going into the park. It took one and one-half hours (they said computers were running slow since the hurricane - coupled with the fact that I got a very nice college girl who was unfamiliar with the process). I pointed out that had I not wanted to use the rewards card I could have done it all by mail as I did last year. The lady said I would have still had to go through the one and one-half hour routine.
I am not using the Disney card any more. I recently signed up for a Citicard that gives a 5% rebate on grocery stores, drug stores and gas stations and 1% rebate on everything else. Makes much more sense to me.
