Reward for Being an AKV Founding Member

This week we received an unexpected delivery from Federal Express.

It was a package from the Disney Vacation Club. Inside the package was a framed African Necklace that was a "reward" for being a Founding Member of the Animal Kingdom Villas.

The necklace and frame look really cool. I thought I would post this picture, so everyone could see what it looks like.

The plaque reads:
Disney's Vacation Club
James T. Collins Family
Founding Members
Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas

We became Founding Members by purchasing our AKV points during the initial offering timeframe. They ran a promotion during the first 2 to 4 weeks, saying that if you purchased 150 points before this date, you would be considered Founding Members.

We loved the Animal Kingdom Lodge and wanted to purchase points for the Animal Kingdom Villas anyway, so the Founding Member status was just a bonus.

With the necklace was there any info about the tapestry?

It is a amazing!! I am so excited to have it.

Like you we wanted points there anyway, so this is just a bonus, but a nice one!!

Now I wish I had something as beautiful from our other DVC home to display.

With the necklace was there any info about the tapestry?

The package arrived with no letter or information at all, just the framed necklace.

So, unfortunately we have not heard any further information on the Tapestry that was promised to have all of the Founding Members names on it and be permanently displayed in the new Kidani Village lobby area.

My kids were really looking forward to it, so I hope that it will still happen.
