Revolution

I like where you are going with that ::yes::

It would also explain the iPhone battery and the CD player - the same thing stopping it from powering on normally would prevent batteries from discharging... Which is one of the things that got me thinking in that direction.

Yeah, but it still doesn't explain the lack of steam power - as in, steam locomotives and the like. To eliminate those, you have to pretty much get rid of fire, or make it so that water no longer boils.

I'm done with the series. Bad writing, lousy character development, and it's not moving along fast enough.

Not for me.

Me too. This show is really awful.

Someone PM when they figure out why the power went out. :woohoo:

I was wondering if the house Grace was in was in some zone where whatever blocked the power didn't work totally?

After watching last night's episode, I ...

1) Was cheering for the arrow

and

2) Had a very vocal answer when she asked "Why does everybody leave me?"

Now, I'm sure the actress who plays Charlie is a nice enough person. But the character is just so whiny and grating.

Apparently my DVR doesn't like this show, since it decided not to record it. As it turns out, I didn't really care :rotfl:

The problem is that they have you getting emotionally invested in characters only to kill them off. I mean they have killed everyone off so far..... and the plot is moving waaaaaay to slow. I want to like the show but it needs more!!

FINALLY!!!!!!!

No more whiny Charlie. Now we get to see the bad A** Charlie that we've been hoping for.

Plus, did anyone notice which literary work Hutch felt MUST be reproduced?

Yep, last night was better for character development. Everyone is showing different traits and I really felt sorry for their Mom.

I was bummed, though, that their "attempt" was unsuccessful.

Super surprised with the twist at the end with the young guy following them!

I guess I have lower standards, because I've enjoyed the show since the first episode. So far, the only question they haven't answered -- well, that I see as a question -- is why the electricity went off. Everything that doesn't run on electricity seems to be working fine, although I could quibble a bit that there are biological and chemical functions involve electric current. I won't, though, because I suspect that whatever turned off the power was targeted very specifically.

I had the British girl spotted as a red shirt since day one. She had no connection to any of the main story line, and ya just gotta kill somebody eventually. Other than her, though, they don't seem to have redshirts at this point. (By the way, my wife informed me that what would have killed her would have been shock from the blood loss, not the blood loss itself. The body can cope with massive blood loss if shock can be prevented.)

I'm looking forward to two weeks from now to see what comes next!

The one thing that keep going through my mind is......if they can't use electric or motors, how do they keep the grass and weeds everywhere from overgrowing?!?!?!:rotfl2:

Still liking it and the fact that they actually give you information each week

Maybe they have sickles (spelling?) and things to keep the grass and stuff down..like they did in the old days before electricity

Well, there are push mowers that run on nothing but muscle power. And of course, there are always goats, cows, sheep, and horses.

A couple things didn't sit right with me in this episode (sorry, just watched it last night)...

1) When the "hero's" went into the bank, they just walked in like the KNEW no one was there. Shouldn't they have been expecting the militia in there? They didn't know the train was leaving until after they entered the bank.
2) During the train attack/rescue... why did Miles & Charlie split up? If they both go into the car to rescue Danny, they could rescue him, all three leave the train, then let the train blow up.
3) Where did Charlie's crossbow go? OK, maybe they wouldn't have had it going through town (and then subsequently during the train attack), but after the attack when they were packing to walk to Philly, I didn't see it.

I found myself actually yelling at the TV for someone to please hit Charlie. She gets on my nerves. The poor actress way over acts.

Goats, if they're smart... Great way to turn overgrown grass into milk/cheese. Other livestock would work too, but goats and sheep are especially portable and easy to keep in makeshift settings.

They should have made it less that 15 years in the future....

Other than the kids, somehow none of the adults look any older. I'm pretty sure, I'm not going to look the same in 2027 as I do today.

It's a small nit, but just bugs me.
