Remember how Obama said that he was gonna take your guns? Well it seems that his allies in the anti-gun world have no problem taking your ammo! The bill 20, that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illioins, and Indiana) requires all ammunitation to be encoded by the manufacture a data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers. Nobody can sell ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded. And privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011.(including hand gun loaded ammo). They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 per box.

If they deprive you of your ammo, THEN they need not take your gun !

This legislation is currently pending in 18 states : Alabama,,Arizona,,Califirnia,,Connecticut,,Hawaii,,Illinois,,Indiana,,Kentucky,,Maryland,,Mississippi,,Missouri,,New Jersey,,New York,,Pennsylvania,,Rhode Island,,S.Carolina,,Tennessee and Washington.

Are rocket launchers included in this?:lmao: :lmao:

Yeah, talk about a way to stir up some lawsuits. The first time Disney refused to let someone rent an ECV to a person with a true handicap...or at least a perceived true handicap, they would be taken to the bank!

It should be the public's' moral decision to make and unfortunately too many people these days are looking for the angle that suits them best; not giving a crap about how it may interfere with another's good time.

Maybe Disney could simply put a sign up that said:

ECVs are for the use of those with medical necessity.

Or something like that. It wouldn't keep everyone without a moral compass from renting, but it may make some stop and think.

I stumbled on this thread. Wanted to share my personal experience.

I was diagnosed with RA and Lupus 2 years ago. Taking medication was working for me but I do have the occasional "flare" which can occur without warning...one morning you can wake up and your hip or whichever joint is so sore it's painful to walk. Anyway, I was doing well on my meds but was concerned about my trip to WDW. I stumbled on a post on "The Mom's Panel" about Lupus patients with a note from their doctor can obtain a special pass allowing them access to the handicapped line or alternative waiting areas. I looked into it and brought with me a doctor's note explaining my condition.

My first day at MK I stopped at City Hall to get the special pass. I went to get out my Dr's note and she handed me the stamped pass without asking to see the note. I kept them together in my fannypack.

My 3rd day at the World, I woke up and could tell I was in trouble. While touring Epcot 2 hours later, my feet could take it no more, I thought they would explode. They started to feel like they were on fire. I could barely walk. My hip joints were so sore every move hurt. Fearing that my vacation was ruined from this flare, we decided to rent a wheelchair for me.

Boy the looks I got.

I'm sure I looked pretty "normal", and they probably wondered why I could walk on to the rides if I needed a wheelchair. But I will tell you, renting the wheelchair saved my vacation with my kids.

And honestly, without hesitation, I would consider renting one of those scooter thingy's for our trip in November, because in the end I think my husband had the worse end of the deal cause he had to push me around.

Took me a week back home before my feet were relatively normal again.

Anyway, my point is you can't always tell what's wrong with a person from the outside, or what kind of pain they might be in.

I'm sure there are people who take advantage, but I think it would be totally fair and ethical of Disney to require a Doctor's note and use manager's judgement on a case by case basis if they choose to make an exception.

I think I saw scooters from various Orlando rental companies too, I don't see how Disney could stop them from entering....unless they made a policy of no rentals from outside the Parks or something.

CampingBandit - Sorry to hear about the RA/Lupus. I understand it is a very frustrating condition. I don't think you should worry about what others think when you use a wheelchair or scooter - especially if YOU know you need it. Yes, unfortunately there are a minority of people who use a wheelchair because they think they can line jump, but that's on their conscience.

I often hear comments made about morbidly obese people that use the scooters. Mostly - "If they did more walking, they wouldn't be so fat!" While that might be true, deciding to walk a theme park is not the time for overweight people to start an exercise program. Most people I know that use a scooter or wheelchair because they need to, would rather not use one. One time I had to rent a wheelchair at Universal, and believe me, after about an hour in that thing, I was almost willing to take the pain of walking over the pain of sitting in it. Most uncomfortable.

Good luck with your treatment in controling the lupus.

Not only that, we left her sitting outside at MIB in a downpour. Well, I thought it was funny. :lmao:

Oooooh, I am so maaaad.

Over a MONTH ago, we ordered a shell for my new truck. (We already had the VIN # and paint code even though we didn't have the truck yet.)

They told us two weeks.

Well, when the truck came in (two weeks ago), we called to let them know we actually had the truck and to check on the shell. Apparently, it didn't get ordered, cause they still were saying two weeks.

Well, we got a call yesterday saying it was in. DH went down today to get it installed, and it's the wrong color!!!!!!

So now, another two weeks, and that is AFTER I leave for Disney. I really NEED a cap or shell on my truck to go camping!!!!!

They also tried to tell us it was our fault for giving them the wrong paint code, but DH argued with them enough and they investigated. We gave them A1 which is the correct paint code, they wrote down AI. Then they said, well we'll just have the Ford dealer paint this one, NO THANKS!!!!

GRRRRRRRRR

Well, beginning 4/20, all Home Depots will be open until 10pm. It was a corporate decision that our store manager tried to fight - but no go. That means I'll be working until 10:30 - and not get home til around 11p. I don't know how long I'll be able to keep that up! :headache:

11:00 at night. That stinks! :sad2: Deb..I don't know how you do it. :confused3You've got to be exhausted. Take care of yourself.

Oh...we won't be "over-stressed". Closing at 10pm just means that the local drunks and druggies will have a place to hang out a little longer. That, and the idiots who for some reason, need to buy air conditioning filters at 9:59pm. Then, there are always those that decide late at nite to come in and pick out paint or new flooring - and take an hour or so to decide what they want. It's always the same type of customer that shops late....A/C filters, paint, flooring. Always!

Don't forget Pete coming in to do his Lowe's returns at your Home Depot... :lmao:

The next reorg I'm going to be reporting to India ---- We had a major reorg and I got moved down another rung on the ladder. They know I'm going in a couple of years so....... oh well. At least I still have a job.

Sorry to hear that Al. Bright side for the rest of us is that at least we'll be able to understand the person we have to speak to. :lmao:

The good news is that I should be safe for the next 2+ years until I retire AND I still make more than anyone else in the department and my pay stays the same! :cool1:

BTW - just kidding about India.....

DH has had the misfortune of working for a car dealership for the last 17 years (although thankfully in service, not sales). They yanked their paid sick time right after Christmas. This week everyone took a 10-15% cut to their weekly pay, and an almost 30% cut to their commissions (which is about half his salary). He's echoing the chant of "at least I still have a job!"

We're still going to FW in November... even if we have to drive 40 mph to save gas and live on Kraft Mac and Cheese the whole time we're there! :dance3:

My DH was layed off from the Lincoln Dealership he worked for in Nov. 07. (He was a salesman). In July 08, the dealership closed after 40+ years. Very sad. The catch-phrase of 2009 is "I have a job." My DH & I are perfect examples of those who are "under-employed". If we'd had a crystal ball, we would never had taken early retirement from Verizon in 02 & 03. I might have died from a stroke from staying there, but I would have died at double the wage I'm currently making from 2 jobs. Like my tag says...."I'm stooooopid!" :sad2:

Hmm... DH works at a Lincoln dealership too. One of the very few left open in these parts. :sad2:

I'm self employed as a graphic/web designer. Thankfully the work has been steady, but there are never any guarantees and no work = no $$. At this point I'm taking any possible project anyone throws my way - no matter how small. Banking every penny for the rainy day I hope and pray never comes.
