Give her a high-five from us, too! I do love seeing someone get a deserving reward!

I can't stomach the guy anymore. I switch between MSNBC, FOX, and CNN. I didn't think I'd ever see the day when CNN had more unbiased reporting out of the three.
His remarks regarding the 9-11 images shown at the Republican convention. I wanted to gag when he was so "offended"..and felt such graphic images of that horrible day shouldn't be shown at the convention.
Personally..it's THEIR convention...it's their perogative. I think if he's covering the election he should be keeping his personal feelings to himself.
I'd like to find a network that just reports the news..or has coverage without all the anchors adding their personal insights. Like we aren't smart enough to figure out what they are saying, or make up our own minds.
On the note of 9-11..I personally..and just speaking for myself, I would show those images EVERY day..so people remember. Not just the rescue efforts ..and the sadness..but the horror of the everyday people who did nothing but go to work that day.. clinging to the windows, and jumping to their deaths. I will never forget. Yeah..they are graphic..but it happened. Why do we have to sugar coat that. We should not let their deaths be in vain..there is a whole generation of people who were too young to fully comprehend what happened when our city was attacked. (my youngest son being one of them). He's 17 now. Having him see video is one of the ways for him to understand why it is that some peoples lives will never be the same. Ours..and his included.

Phyllis,
The ones that remember the most are the ones that were there, at the center or nearby or those who lost people. Having been in combat zones several times during my life, I can honestly say that the WTC counts as one - it was totally surreal. Walking down Broadway in full combat gear with spectators behind barriers on the sidewalks asking us if we'd seen their relatives and showing us pictures ranks as one of the saddest things I've ever seen.
To this day, I remember, well I remember a lot of different things.......
Phyllis,
Did you see the special last nite on We network about the widows of 9/11? The press made everyone believe that they all got millions, but that wasn't the case at all. One couple with a child together, but not married, he died NYFD, but she was not considered a widow so was totally kept out of everything. Another couple, two women who lived together, one had died and the other had no rights either. Another couple, he died NYFD, and she refused the lump sum that was offered to her to settle out, and was sued by his step kids to take the 2 mil that was offered. A judge made her settle and split it with the kids. It was very interesting. They also talked about the widows who hooked up with other NYFD who were married and left their wives for the widows...wow.

I didn't see the show you refer to..but I have seen others regarding the NYFD..and how many of the widows became involved with fireman assigned to care for the family. In fact, it was even on Oprah a while back. Show featured some pretty upset ex-wives..can't say I blame them.
What, and why??
I sit here thinking back to the Sunday School lesson I gave last week. God and his world in the simple, grade-school terms that the kids have so much trouble understanding.
Why have we taken so simple a world and made it so #$*$@$%^ complicated? Why do we spend so many hours/days/years worrying about the details (made by us) that really have nothing to do with who we are and what we have? Why do I walk around all the time feeling like I am not doing enough, and will not have enough at the end of the road? Why am I focusing so much on the end of the road, and not enough on the road itself while I am on it? Why do I question what we have made of the world, when I enjoy so many of the things in it? And how in the heck did we come up with this and call it a success?
I spend so much time arguing over who is responsible and who is going to pay, and it just feels like I am blowing past the issues that REALLY count.
OK, off the soapbox, I'm just babbling. Back to what we have made, and how to work with it all.....![]()
Hi! I'm sorry you're having a bad day.![]()
Since you already know that the answers to your questions are in the bible, I'm just putting a few in order here to help you feel better:
Romans 5:12 - why we are the way we are
1 John 5:19 - what is causing all the problems in the world
James 4:8 - What we should do about it
2 Peter 3:13 - we have better things ahead
Revelation 21:3-4 - much brighter future ahead!!
Feel better?![]()

I spend most of my time worrying about things that really don't matter
And my all time favorite Deuteronomy 4:47
They occupied his land and the land of Og, king of Bashan, as well--the land of these two kings of the Amorites in the region east of the Jordan
It helps. I just get in a funk when I am reading through all of this, and realizing that I spend most of my time worrying about things that really don't matter, they're just a product of what we made of this life.
Just wonder why I have to go through all of this, just to have a few bright moments with the things that really matter. And why do I spend so much time complaining about what I am and what I have, when by all accounts, I have a lot.
Just count my ramblings as things that should be on the "ignore" list!![]()
