DW walked in from work a little bit ago with a severe "angry thread" look on her face, and not wanting to talk about it (never a good sign after work). The only thing she had to say was to ask me if I had access to my company's benefits info on-line, or would I have to talk to HR. We have used her insurance benefits for several years, they're better than mine.

Sounds like a *#@^ of a day at the hospital. I guess I'd better be checking on benefits over the weekend in case her disposition doesn't improve. I've heard her complain about work often enough, being the charge nurse means you have a big bulls-eye on your forehead all the time. That's the first time she ever phrased it that way, though.

Btw, you need to get her to join dis! This would be a great way to releave stress for her (if she loves camping and disney like the rest of us).

I'll just have to wait and see. This probably means they lost a patient in the unit. She won't talk to me much about it in that case, confidentiality applies even to your DH.

If it has something to do with a person, or the system, she'll eventually tell me what it is. I've learned not to ask too much, just let her be mad for a while.

We're both off for the weekend! A softball game in the morning, then blessed nothingness for the rest of the day!!

Rob, My wife is a nurse, and she HATES where she is at right now, bad hospital, worse administration. Well she got the call yesterday, she got the job she wanted at a local magnet (I think that is what it is called) hospital, in the ccu. She starts in 2 weeks.

Ya gotta love the coming together of like minds. DW went to bed last night, and I wasn't close to tired. I was flipping around on the tube and came in on Vacation just as they were on the train to Italy, and watched the rest. Too bad I misssed most of it.


She did eventually let some of the frustration out. Sounds like everybody was having a busy day at work, and started taking it out on each other. As long as it's not a patient she'll eventually shake it off.

Part of her problem is that, in her area of ob/gyn she is in the best place around. She might get rid of some individul problems by leaving, but she'd come to regret it in the end.
