Crowd calendar red week

The overlapping travel patterns. Like early Nov when Vet’s Day overlaps Jersey Week. Ramps it up that much more.

Our schools are off the Mon and Tues of Prez Day. Our full week ‘Spring Break’ is Easter. I can see people planning WDW around that 4 day weekend.

Many schools have off that whole week. About 15% of schools take a break the same week as Mardi Gras vs 30% Easter week.

Feb 16-20 also has weekend bookends with soccer and flag football events.

The weather definitely helps keep it more manageable. I’d expect it to be very busy.

Touring Plans has it mostly an overall 7 to 8 with certain parks anywhere from 6 to 9 depending on day.

We are coming this week, and have done the Mardi Gras/ Presidents day crossover week many times. We are usually at WDW this week or Thanksgiving week. They are usually about the same in terms of crowds, even when President's day doesn't overlap its busy. I do find that later in the week is better.

Good catch. I could've sworn it showed 9a-9p for President's Day weekend when I looked last week, but now it shows 8a-11p from 2/13-21.

I’ve been checking the park hours too, as I’ll be there for Presidents Day week. MK definitely had hours of 9am - 9 pm. But I noticed the hours were changed a few days ago to 8am - 11pm.

It looks like the starlight parade will have two shows, so that’s a plus of the longer hours.

I’m staying at the Swan, so I’ve been planning to do the extended evening hours on 2/18. But the longer park hours will mean EEH are 11pm -1am! That’s pretty late, but I’m hoping the later schedule will mean less crowds at EEH.

I’ll have to see how it goes ! I figure the whole week will likely be crazy busy, but I’ll make the best of it

9a- 9p are the default place holder hours. The calendar always opens with those. Then 2-3 weeks out, the calendar is updated with the actual hours.

Touring plans just downgraded their crowd predictions for Mardi Gras week from mostly 8s to mostly 6s. I don't know if they know something we don't or the algorithm completely failed. That doesn't seem realistic to me.

Honestly the algorithm hasn't been the same since Covid. I honestly would not put much stock in the difference between a 6 and 8.

This was a week my travel agent told me to avoid. I had wanted to go for my birthday (the 18th) but she suggested I pick another time because it just wouldn't be very enjoyable.

It is what it is at this point. I wouldn't have chosen this week but back in September my travel companions said they were going on a cruise and were planning to get in early for a couple days at Disney. I said I'd join them and then a month or so later we realized the timing wasn't ideal. What can you do. I'm an AP holder from out of state but my girlfriend will be joining me for her first visit. Not the most ideal first time visit crowd-level wise but we'll have Lightning Lane and go in expecting the worst -- and hopefully things won't be all that bad.

Everyone there will be in the same boat. Bring your patience and be kind. We get to go to Disney!

I wouldn't say it won't be enjoyable. The week of Christmas falls into that category, but we have had a good time this week.
