I bought latisee from a nurse so you had to have a prescription. It was $150 (supposed to last a month, but my nurse said if I use a small liner it would last 2 months) and you can sign up for a 25 rebate. I have been using it for 5 weeks and it is awesome for lash growth, but I have stopped in the last week before I keep getting lashes rubbing in my eyes for some reason. Probably just a coincidence, but I want to stop until I figure out what it up.

I bought a very skinny eyeliner type brush, spent $20 on it so I don't waste much at all. Do NOT use the brushes they give you, you will waste a ton of the solution.

I used Rapid lash (OTC-$50) and got some results on my blonde sparse lashes. I stopped using it for a couple of days, and my lashes really took a beating, so don't stop using it if it works or your great results will come undone! I think I will call my Dr's office and see about Latisse.

i know someone who used rapid lash, it worked well but they had to do it everyday and when they stopped the lashes started getting sparse, and i dont think they got that dark so they were always using mascara. that friend stopped and starting getting their lashes tinted which they like much better. at least one makeup company is developing mascaras with that stuff in it, some will be out in a few months, that will prolly be available there since they are a big drugstore brand. i got it and was testing it out but the brush was too big for my taste and the mascara wasnt as good as the dept. store brand i use.

I had a reaction to the over the counter one from loreal and wanted to try lattise I received a prescription but am really afraid it was an an allergic reaction triggering my asthma.

thanks for the replies

I've purchased Latisse (about $125/bottle)at my dermatologist's office and had great success. I used it daily for about 2 months. I had to cut back to 2x/wk because my lashes were getting too thick and actually looked a little silly surrounded by my crows feet wrinkles. I look wide awake and a bit younger now that my lashes are back.

My aunt was using Lattise but stopped because she found out one of the side effects was changing your eye color to brown. She has blue eyes and did not want them changed.

I'm lucky there- my eyes are almost black! Can't get any darker.

The main ingredients in Lattise are used in a product for reducing eye pressure (glaucoma) . That drug is actually put into

If you use Lattise correctly, you do not actually put it into your eye and, therefore, the chance of it changing your eye color are very, very slim. But, it had to be included as a possible side effect.

Ive been using Latisse for about 9 months now. My eye Dr. prescribed it for me. $120 for a teeny tiny bottle. I use the brushes that come with it and applied as directed. Every night for about 12 weeks straight.

The results were amazing and I had to cut back because my lashes were getting so long they were getting in the way of my sunglasses.

I have not had any side effects and I simply use it now to maintain what I have. Usually applying it a couple times a week and thats it.

Yes its expensive, but so worth it. Im very happy with my results.

I have been using the loreal lash grower about 10-15 bucks at any target or walgreens and have seen results. I also use the mascara w/ the serum in it as well. Lashes are longer and don't come out as easily. I would recomend it.

This is me exactly. While I was using the Rapidlash, I also tinted my lashes, and they looked pretty good. But once I stopped for a couple of days-the lashes went back to normal, except for the tint. I have bonde, short, sparse lashes, so the difference was noticeable, but not dramatic.

Bed Bath and Beyond carries it. It is $50, and you can use one of their coupons to buy it.

I am hoping for these crazy result, but I know it won't be that way! I have heard of people trimming their lashes!

From what I have read this is a very slight problem and in fact they have not found these results from Latisse, but the equivalent that Latisse is based on which is for eye conditions and the drops are put directly in the eyes. Again just info I have found randomly on the net...I don't have any links for it.

I went into my Drs. office the other day (internist) and asked if I needed an appointment to get a prescription for Latisse. The said yes, so I left and was going to wait until I needed an appointment to get it. Then I went online and found a company that has a licensed Dr. and they will let you fill out an online medical information form and you can buy it from them. You also have to electronically sign a waiver. I know it isn't a good idea to do things this way, but I couldn't see paying for an appointment that I don't need. I answered all the questions in detail, and they have shipped my Latisse. It was $88+$10 s/h, with a $20 rebate from the Latisse site.

This is what freaks me out. I have hazel-brown/green eyes but even if I had dark eyes, the fact that a drug can change eye color makes me wonder what other side effects there may be down the road.

Lumagin is what Latisse is. Lumagin is a medicine that has been used in treating forms of glaucoma, and has been around for years. It was discovered that increased lash growth was a side effect of Lumagin, and after receiving approval, it was renamed and sold as an aesthetic treatment. Lumagin is applied directly to the eyes, Latisse is applied to the eyelid near the lashes.

My sister and I both tried Latisse. Yes, it worked, but I did not get the dramatic results of the people above. My lashes got significantly longer but not long enough to hit my glasses, and they were a bit thicker but nothing that would come close to "lush." The reason I tried it was because I'm at menopause age and my lashes had lost some of their length and a lot of their thickness. I liked Latisse but the cost just became too much for getting eyelashes that were a little longer and thicker. Nice, but worth hundreds of dollars a year? Not for me at my age. When it *would* have been worth it to me, I didn't need it! I would use it now if it didn't cost so much.

My sister had great results but she had a really bad allergic reaction that began after several weeks. Her eyes got puffy, red, and scaly! Her doctor told her to discontinue and not use it again. It took a few weeks for the reaction to completely subside. Just to be sure, she did try it again and yep, same reaction. Didn't take long for the allergic reaction to go away the second time since she only used it once to see.

I have used Latisse, Revitalash, and Careprost which is the generic form of Latisse. Here is my review and cost:

My lashes were always sufficiently long, on the light side of brown, not terribly "lush", but with mascara looked great. Then came "surgical menopause", and my lashes suffered, becoming limp and kind of sparse.

At that time, I was able to go to a "spa" in Rhode Island (I live in MA), and purchase 2 bottles of Latisse for $200 (they were running a special). I did not need a rx., nor did I have to meet with a doctor. The product came with a plethora of useless brushes, so I went to Sally's and purchased a nail polish art brush to use with the product. I used it nightly - by placing 1 drop on the little indent on the outside of the cap, then dipping the brush into the clear drop, then running the wet brush along the top of my lashline. Once done with the top lashes, I gently dabbed the still wet brush along my bottom lash line (the instructions say not to use it on the bottom lashes, so I did this on my own accord). I then re-capped the product, and washed the capand brush with an antibacterial soap. I took before and after photos, and can tell you that my lashes looked awesome after approx 8 weeks, and unreal at the 12th week mark. I then went to a "maintenance" dose and used it 3 times per week. The two bottles lasted me about 6 months or so using my method. I never had to trim my lashes, and still used mascara - but only 1 coat. I got tons of compliments so I know the lashes were noticeable.

Flash forward: I ran out of the Latisse, and the spa no longer sold it without a valid rx. My gorgeous lashes were slowly-but-surely going back to their post-menopausal selves. I was at BJ's and saw a box of Revitalash ($45). I figured I'd try it. It does not come with a separate brush - more like it is a tube with a wand-like brush in it. I used the entire bottle and noticed no difference at all. Waste of money, zero results.

I then discover through the lash grape-vine that there is now a generic version of Latisse called Careprost. It can be purchased via the internet, as can the Latisse, but the Careprost is MUCH less expensive - I think I paid $30 per bottle, and bought 2. I am now using the Careprost with my nail brush method. The bottle I am on now was opened on Dec 26th, 2014. I still have quite a bit in it, and 3 months into it, my lashes are definitely fuller and longer. They are also a bit darker, but not super dark. Without mascara they look good, with mascara they really pop. I am now using it a few times a week since I want the bottle to last as long as possible.

My eye color is brown so I'm not concerned about darkening them further. I had no side-effects from any of the products, and use it only on the lash line. I never use such a big drop that it runs down my face or into my eye (that I can tell anyway). If the Latisse was not so expensive, I would switch back and forth with the Careprost so my lashes would not become immune to one product over time, but it is too costly for me, so I'll stick to the Careprost. I think that like with any drug, not all results will be the same, so as long as you go into it with reasonable expectations, you will see results. If you try it, remember - patience is the key, as well as daily use. It may take weeks before you notice a difference, and full effect at 12 weeks.
