Revised Shuttle Launch Dates

Just found out the new Shuttle Launch schedules which have been revised following delays caused by problems discovered in some of the engines.

New dates are: 28th Spetember 2002
2nd November 2002
29th November 2002.

Remember, these are provisional dates, and like before, can change for a number of reasons. The 29th November launch now falls during my trip, so guess where I'll be on that date!

I'm there for the 29th too. Does anyone know where would be the best place to watch as I don't won't to buy tickets to go see it incase it gets cancelled?

Thanks for the info on launch dates. We fly out on the 27th of September, so it looks like we will get to see our second shuttle launch, fingers crossed.

If you don't want to risk buying tickets for the causeway, the next best shuttle launch viewing site is at Titusville (approx 10 miles)

Has anyone any info on planned launch dates after Nov. I am going Feb 03 and have spoken to a friend who saw the launch May 02 and thoroughly recommended it. Is there any chance of a Feb launch or not. TY

Elaine,

NASA has not yet published its launch dates that far forward yet.

BUT, shuttle launches are a regular occurence these days ( two scheduled for November) and i would think there would be about a 50:50 chance of a launch in February.

At the moment they are repairing all 4 shuttles. One is having a major overhaul and the other 3 are having cracks repaired. This has put the processing behind schedule.
