We love Minnie's Breakfast. We have seen up to 12 characters there. We are WDW vets and we feel it is far superior to any of the WDW character meals because of the number of and variety of the characters you can run into. We love that there is often a surprise as to which characters you might run across (We have seen Tweedle Dum, Brer Bear, a Penguin from Mary Poppins, Gepetto, and a few others that we thought were a surprise or unusual). We were there last week and we saw Minnie, Captain Hook (who was hilarious that day), Fairy Godmother, Rafiki, Chip, Dale, Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, and Max. We have seen all of those there before, so no big surprise this trip, but still fantastic. AngieTN, I wonder if you experience had to do with your timing or just a bad day there. Last year, we did have the experience that a few things were slow to be refilled but we had never had that happen before, and last week the food was more than plentiful and quickly refilled if anything looked low. Our reservation was at 10:30 last week. We like to get there when the park opens at 8:00 and take advantage of that first couple of hours of really low lines, and then have brunch. Plus by that time, it isn't as crowded so you get lots of good character time.
As far as Ariel's, we were there shortly after the lunch menu change last July (which I think is still the current menu), and to us the food was so bad that both DD and I wound up not eating it and getting corn dogs for lunch immediately AFTER leaving our Ariel's lunch. We enjoyed it before the menu change, but we found the menu to be poor after the change and the food to be poor as well. Because of the lunch menu, we did breakfast last week. We really enjoyed the breakfast. The food was great! We saw Ariel, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Tiana and Belle last week. Our Reservation was at 9:30--- I think that may be the latest breakfast reservation they do.
We are extremely disappointed with the changes at Goofy's Kitchen. We never thought it was as good as Minnie's, but we really enjoyed it and we did usually see 5 or 6 characters there other than Goofy and we loved that it was not standardized and that there were surprises as to what characters would be there. We hate that it is now the standard Goofy, Pluto, Chip, Dale and Minnie. If they were going to standardize it, they could have at least thrown Mickey in too. Plus, every time we have ever eaten at Minnie's Breakfast we have seen Chip, Dale and Minnie, so it is a duplication of characters. Before the standardization, we had run into the Mad Hatter there almost every trip, and he was always a highlight of that meal because he was hilarious. Now, it is a standardized 5 just like any WDW meal. Plus, we feel like we are getting less for the same high price since they have taken away characters and standardized who was there. We typically do Goofy's on every DL trip, particularly as we have always stayed at the
Disneyland hotel, but this year we skipped it. For DD, 9, to say she would rather skip it is a big deal because she has been a huge character fanatic since she was 2.
