Day 4, Dec 19

Breakfast, In room
We just ate muffins in the room for breakfast this morning.

Lunch, Tusker House, AK
AK, IMO, has the BEST counter service places. We decided on Tusker House because I knew my mom would really enjoy the rotisserie chicken here. When we decided to eat lunch, the place was practically empty where you order your food. The inside seating was limited. It was fairly chilly outside so most people were trying to dine inside, plus many of the tables were pushed together to make longer tables which were rarely full. My mom and I both had the rotisserie chicken, which was VERY good! The chicken was practically falling off of the bone. The veggies and potatoes were also very good, but need a bit of salt and pepper for my tastes. DH and the fried chicken sandwich which he enjoyed. I wanted to get the turkey wrap to try the corn chowder, but after reading what all came in the turkey wrap, I decided to get the chicken because I would have had to take off almost everything that comes in the wrap in order to eat it (I’m fairly picky when it comes to sandwich condiments). For dessert, my mom and DS got the carrot cake and enjoyed it. I had the chocolate cake which was SO GOOD!! It was huge and moist and I ate every last bite because it was so good!! Tusker House was definitely my favorite counter service meal of the trip (a close second was Earl of Sandwich, which I’ll get to in a later review).

Dinner, Boma, AKL
DH and I had been to Boma twice before and wanted to bring my mom to experience it since it offers such different foods, and because we wanted her to see the AKL, which is a beautiful resort. We had to wait about 10 minutes or so after our ADR time. The buffet did not disappoint. My mom was a bit hesitant when I first told her about Boma and admitted she never would have picked such a place, but she really enjoyed it. I loved every soup that I tried that night, which was four I think. DH and I always enjoy the Potatoes with Afritude. I don’t remember what the meat was that night since I didn’t try any. The roasted chicken was very dry. I took one bite and didn’t bother eating the rest. DS really enjoyed his mac n cheese…this was the first meal that he really ate well since we arrived at WDW. We actually had to go back to get him another serving! He also enjoyed the fresh pineapple. As for the desserts, I think I tried about 4 or 5 of them! LOL! All of them were very good, and I especially enjoyed the pineapple cheesecake! We love Boma…such a different and yummy meal!

Day 5, Dec. 20

Breakfast, Whispering Canyon Café, WL
This was our MVMCP day, so we decided to have a late breakfast since we were scheduled for an early dinner at LTT. No ADR for this meal and we were seated immediately. We all had the breakfast skillet and really enjoyed it. For $10.99 per person you get all you can eat eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, waffles, and potatoes. Everything was very good and we ended up getting more of everything except the potatoes and gravy, which we didn’t finish the first time. The waffles were very good…shaped like pinecones.  This late breakfast was very filling and held us over to our early 5:30 dinner at LTT before MVMCP.

Dinner, LTT, MK
This was our first time at LTT. We had to wait a few minutes for a table after our ADR time. Our server was probably the worse of the trip. She was hardly ever around, didn’t keep our drinks full, and never asked us if we wanted more of anything. When she finally made it to our table, she just said “So, are y’all done?” Um, no, we would like more of some things. Despite the service, the food was very good. I was actually surprised at how much I enjoyed this meal. My mom and DH really enjoyed the salad with the strawberry vinaigrette dressing. I think we were also served bread before the main course. The Turkey was very good and not dry at all. The ham was also good and my mom loved it. Both DH and I really enjoyed the beef. It had a great flavor. We asked for more of this and the ham for my mom. The dressing was also very very good! We all picked at the other side items, which were good but nothing special. I would return just for the beef! It was that good!! For dessert, we had, I think, apple cobbler. I don’t really remember, so I don’t guess it was anything outstanding. ;)

The characters here were great. DS had brought his Mickey guitar into the restaurant with him and had it on the table when Minnie, the first character, arrived. After playing with DS for a while, she picked up the guitar and started playing it. DS really got a kick out of that! Whenever another character was near, he would ask us if they would play his guitar. I have pictures of Minnie, Goofy, Chip, Dale, and Pluto all playing DS’s guitar. It was so funny! DS loved it and so did we! They really spent a lot of time with DS the first time around. I think they probably made two or three rounds while we were there and each time they at least stopped and told DS hi or gave him a pat on the head. I would definitely return here.

My other reviews:
Part 1 Whispering Canyon, Crystal Palace, Columbia Harbor House, Kona Cafe
Part 2 Electric Umbrella, San Angel Inn

Too bad about the service at LTT. Poor service has a way of spoiling an otherwise good dinner--tho at least the food WAS good!!

Thanks for the reviews. It sounds like you had some wonderful meals. Sorry to hear about the poor service at LTT, but I'm glad you enjoyed the food and characters in spite of that. :)

LOL! I just noticed that I wrote that DH brought his mickey guitar into LTT...I meant DS. lol!
