I tried both Castaway Cay experience and Stingray City myself, it's a completely different experience. I love Stingray City way more.

They'll use feeding tray on CC, which I don't feel as "natural" as they are suppose to be.... I also found the snorkeling time on CC real short. I went to SC two times and it was not crowded, but I was there with local tours (one time on boat, one on jetski!), not the cruise tour. May be you should check the Cayman port schedule and see if there are other cruise ships that day. By standing on the sandbar on SC in the middle of the ocean is pretty amazing itself. My wife changed from scared by the ray to love them, she eventually just grab and hold one up to kiss it all by herself!

My buddy who grown up from Cayman Island suggested Turtle farm if your kids like turtle!

I read that the Magic will be in port the same day so there will probably be a lot of people getting off the ship. No kids on this trip, it's our honeymoon cruise I love turtles though, I'll look into that.

We ended up choosing the Castaway Cay stingray experience and really enjoyed it. It wasn't crowded, it was peaceful, and the CM had all kinds of interesting information. We definitely had to shuffle though. There were always as many rays down along the bottom as up higher. It took months to persuade my husband that it wouldn't be dangerous. I didn't know about the barbs though. That would have helped!

In Grand Cayman, we did the amphibious bus tour, which was really entertaining, and then rented a cabana at Royal Palms. (The bus tour actually lets you off there but it's where we were going regardless.) It was lovely. Great food/drinks and very relaxing.
