Cmon folks, I leave in 10 days and want the skinny on what to get! Tell me all about the wonderful items you have tried! Beer, food, wine, tell me all about it!

I have already heard the pumpkin mousse is awesome, so that will definitely be on my list of things to try. Any awesome ice wines to give a go? Which is the best champagne at Champagne and Desserts?

My favorite things from this past weekend were:

Grilled Beef Skewer with Chimichurri Sauce and Boniato Purée from Argentina

Seared Mahi Mahi with steamed Rice, Hearts of Palm and Coconut-Lime Sauce from Brazil

Jerk-spiced Chicken Drumstick with Mango Salsa from Caribbean

Ravioli Di Formaggio all'Emiliana (Baked Cheese Ravioli with Creamy Beef Bolognese Sauce, Parmesan Cheese, and Melted Mozzarella from Italy

And honestly, nothing at the carts beats the special flavored margaritas served at La Cava del Tequila inside of the Mexico pavilion. We did have a lot of wines, but nothing jumped out as anything extraordinary.

Hope this helps!

And people please ! where are the pictures !!! WE WANT FOOD PORN ! WE WANT FOOD PORN !!! :worship:

I second the vote for the jerk chicken drumstick. We also really enjoyed the lamb chop with potato salad (from Australia...I think), cheese plate from the cheese booth, and as usual the escargot from France. We also got a glass of Rosa Regale and a tiramisu from the booth in Italy that is always there and both were excellent! :thumbsup2
On the other hand we really disliked the fondue from the cheese booth. Really winey taste. I saw more than one person make a face after tasting it. Also thought the dragonberry colada from the Caribbean booth was way too sweet.

Is it the same as last year when they had the potatoes with it? We thought it was too salty last year and so far have skipped it this year unless i hear differently.

I thought it tasted fine except it needed MORE salt. I didn't mind the "winey" taste although I figured what I was tasting was gruyere cheese, not wine. Although it's typical to put a little wine in cheese fondue.

No pictures of the pumpkin mousse because I didn't want to stop to take a picture of it.

Here's the apple strudel from Germany, it was OK, but not enough caramel for me

As usual, the milk chocolate creme brulee was good, light chocolate, not rich.
The Lobster and Scallop Fisherman's Pie was super.

The chocolate lava cake, also from Ireland, was good, but so tiny! Barely bigger around than a quarter.

DH loved the Feijoada (black bean and pork stew) from Brazil.

The Belgian waffle was very good as usual.

The griddled cheese with pistachio nuts from Greece was the only bad thing I remember-too salty.

I keep hearing people talk about something in greece with honey drizzled on it..What is that?

Griddled greek cheese with pistachios and honey... YUM! If their chicken is as good as last year, we will prolly get a couple!

Quick warning:
Wanted to taste that Ceddar Cheese Soup from Canada that everyone raves about. Got about 1/3 cup of gloppy, salty soup for $3.75 at the Canada stand. Avoid!

In prior years this soup (the same soup served at Le Cellier) has actually been the best selling item at the entire festival. Not sure how it will measure up this year yet.

Have you tried it yet? Maybe because it was a super-hot day and I was always thirsty, but I didn't like it at all. I thought it was much too salty. It's the only F&W item I threw away unfinished.
I just remembered that I did have it the day before the official start of the F&W, during "soft opening". Maybe the saltiness got worked out that day, and I got a test.

I couldn't believe how small the portion was!

My favourite item was the Fisherman's Pie @ Ireland. It is about $5 but seems more substantial and filling than some of the other ones.

I finally took a look at the menu pics and I don't see my favorite desert !!! do they not have the bread pudding this year ?!?! :sad2:

Another vote for the Fisherman's pie in Ireland. The Irish cheese plate was very good too. The wurst sausage from Germany was much better and bigger than it was a couple of years ago but the pretzel bread was still just so so. The beer flights in Germany were great beers except DH and I each got a different beer flight and after trying to carry six little beers we couldn't keep track of which was which. A little sticker on the cup or a placemat map type of thing would have been great. Poland was a disappointment. Their pierogi and kielbasa and the cabbage roll were blah and the strawberry basalmic drink was very, very sweet. Almost would have been better if you'd have added it to sparkling water - by itself it was almost like syrupDH had the scallop in New Zealand and really liked it. Said it was cooked well, which meant for me it was underdone. The apple radish salad and sweet potatoes that came with it were both great. Also had a Mohua Savignon Blanc in New Zealand that was very nice. The biggest disappointment was the kahlua pork in Hawaii. We had a split vote on the maitai in Hawaii. I like it and DH didn't. It was cold and the roll was dry. We've got three more days of our trip dedicated to Epcot so I'll try to add more later.

Has anyone tried the Neige Ice wine? Supposed to be made from apples, sounds really good!

I'm pregnant AND vegetarian so my options were pretty limited. But here are some pictures of the things my husband and I tried at the festival this week.

The rice pudding from Scandinavia was so-so. Not very flavorful.

The bunny chow from South Africa was really good. I would have liked the "bread loaf" better with a dessert, though.

Neither of us were crazy about the cheese fondue.

I think my husband liked the California sushi roll from Japan.

The pastel de nata from Portugal was okay. I had no idea what it was when I ordered it, so I didn't know what to expect.

My husband enjoyed the creme brulee from France again this year. I tried it last year but I'm just not into it.

From Ireland. The cheese selection tasted okay, but I really prefer to eat cheese on crackers or bread. I couldn't WAIT to have the lava cake again this year because it was by far my favorite from last year's festival, but it was disappointingly only okay. I don't know if my pregnancy taste buds are different, but it wasn't as delicious as I remembered. The portion also seemed smaller, but I don't know if it actually was.

Husband took one bite of the Canadian cheddar cheese soup, said it tasted exactly like vomit, and then pitched it into that trash can.

I think he liked the pork slider and mai tai from Hawaii much better.
