We debated between HDDR and SofA for a while. We love HDDR and didn't go last trip, so it was a close call, but we had never been to SofA, so we wanted to give it a try.

It didn't start off so great. Torrential rains made us think the dinner and show would be cancelled. It took a while to learn (our fault) that the dinner goes on regardless of rain, so off we went. Got to MK and headed for monorail, very crowded on platform. Monorail came in after a long wait, we got on board and it sat, and sat. Finally off to transportation center and it stopped. After a few minutes someone came on and told us it would be a while as they were moving a broken down car. We had 5:15 ressie and it was already 5:25. To boot I had the concierge print out our dinner tickets and forgot them in the room. DW shot me "the look." Jumped off the monorail and walked to Poly. Seemed to take forever weaving through the buildings, but we made it there for 5:35. No tickets? No worries, we were ushered right to our table.

We used DDP credits, so we sat in Cat. 2. It was fine, off to the side a bit and about 15 seats back.

We missed the very beginning of the show, but caught the best part, the fire twirler. Food was very good. We were a bit apprehensive because of Disboard postings, but absolutely no complaints. Meat was well prepared, not overcooked.

The only downer was our waitress who seemed annoyed when we needed anything (drink re-fills, more food, etc). I guess she didn't have to be too attentive since our meals (with tip) were paid for in advance and we didn't order any drinks.

All in all, it was well worth it. Would definitely do it again, but not before going back to HDDR.

Nice to read a good report of the Luau. I've been there a few years back and it might be time to visit again. Thanks for posting!

Thanks for the review, we are booked for December paying OOP for first tier. Hope it's good

thanks for the review-we are going Thursday (just love how that sounds-Thursday!!!) Just a few questions:

What kinda foods are served?
Drinks-I was under the impression Beer and Wine were included...??
Did you get your own table or is it family style and you are sat with others.

Thanks! :thumbsup2
