The Boardwalk is an great resort. The theme is really cool and that's coming from someone who lives near the original boardwalk.
The pool area is fun with a great slide that looks like a rollercoaster. At night, there is entertainment out on the boardwalk. I saw a juggler, a piano man on a bicycle and a "comedian". You can rent bikes and watercraft from there, too. How fun it would be to have your room above the boardwalk and watch all the action- or be in it!
The resort is very compact. It is a short walk to the boat launch and to the buses. Of course, you have EPCOT, the Studios, YC/BC and the Swolphin nearby.
I ate at Spoodles and it was very good. I loved the dips! There are also a lot of shops along the boardwalk, too.
Just wanted to add that I though the arcade was a little small, but I found that to be true of all the deluxe resorts.
