DH and I went to WDW from January 22-28. Here are some quick reviews of the restaurants we ate at during our trip.

Monday, January 23:
Lunch: Flame Tree Barbecue. DH had the smoked turkey breast sandwich. I had the smoked beef sandwich. We both enjoyed our lunch and though it was plenty of food for both of us because we shared the sides that came with the sandwiches.

Dinner: Fulton's Crab House. DH and I were seated immediately upon arrival (we did have a ADR). The service was excellent. We had the crab and lobster experience for two. Also, we were able to get different side orders than the one that came with the meal. We got mixed vegetables and red potatoes. The crab was excellent. The lobster was not the best (too soft for my taste). The sides were great too. I had the vanilla custard, which I thought was good. Not my favorite, but I wanted to try something different from the chocolate desserts which I tend to order over and over again. We highly recommend Fulton's Crab House.

Tuesday, January 24:
Lunch: Backlot Express. We had the turkey sandwiches and shared fries. The food was okay, but left me feeling kind of gross for the rest of the afternoon. The worst part about the CS was the service because the CM appeared to be confused and disorganized. For example, people who ordered after us were getting their food before the people in front of us in line. We think the food should come out in the order that people ordered their food. Just our opinions.

Dinner: Mama Melrose. We were go glad we had ADR because they were turning people away. We both had the green mixed salads and shared an order of oven baked chicken parmesan. We left the restaurant feeling good and not overly stuffed. The great part was that we were not charged for splitting the meal. We enjoyed the dinner and would recommend going to Mama Melrose.

Wednesday, January 25:
Lunch: Lotus Blossum Cafe. We had the orange chicken rice bowl and shanghai grilled chicken. I had the orange chicek bowl and it had too much sauce for my taste. Overall, we thought the good quality was good. The service was great and the place is so clean. I would say it was cleanest CS in WDW during our stay.

Snack: Sommerfest. DH had a frankfurter and enjoyed it. I had a serving of black forest cake (which was very sweet and yummy).

Dinner: Chefs De France. The food was great and service was great as well. DH had the grilled tenderloin beef. I had the French Menu (onion soup, chicken, and creme brulee). DH thought the portions were small, but the food was great. The onion soup was delicious and the chicken was so yummy. The creme brulee was the best I ever had. DH and I shared the creme brulee and he loved the cookie on the top. Does anyone know what type of cookie they put on top of the creme brulee? We enjoyed Chefs De France and would recommend the restaurant.

Thursday, January 26:
Lunch: Cosmic Rays. We day the grilled chicken sandwhiches (one with pasta salad and one with chips). A decent meal, nothing memoriable about the food.

Dinner: CRT. We shared one ceasar salad and beef tenderloin (kings cut). The food was perfect size for us to share and it was yummy. The rolls were so good. I enjoyed way too many rolls, but it was worth it. The service was great. They reserved the "best table" for our anniversary (table 16). The table is for 2 people, window view table in the middle. The table was decorated with mickey mouse confetti and streamers. Also, all the CM wished us a happy anniversary. The waitress was great. We never had to ask for refills of anything, she was on top of things. Also, they gave us a gift for our anniversary. The gift was 2 glass flute glasses with CRT logos on them. I glad we were able to go before they increased the prices. I would recommend going to CRT for the whole experience of eating in the castle at least once.

Friday, January 27:
Lunch: Tusker House. We both had the salmon and shared a piece of carrot cake. The food was great. We would definitely go back.

Dinner: Planet Hollywood. The place is very noisy. The food and service made up for the loud noise. I had the the chicken fajitas and they were great. DH had the New York strip and said it was tasty.

I want to thank everyone who posted reviews of restaurants because it helped us narrow down the the restaurants to choose from at WDW/DTD. :)

cdvictorin,

Thanks for posting! It sounds like you had good dining experiences. Your Castle dinner sounds like it was a wonderful way to celebrate your anniversary! It's great to have these reviews to consult before making those all important decisions. ;)

We were at Chefs de France on 1/27 and our creme brulee had madelines on them. They are almost like a little cake. It was very good, but DS wanted mine!

Thanks! :) I will be on the look out for those cookies.

Thanks for the reviews! I was thinking of Chefs/France for our next trip. Do you know if they serve lunch? :sunny:

We usually go for lunch and get:

The French Menu
$14.95
Soupe a l' oignon gratinee - Onion soup topped with Gruyere cheese
Croque monsieur et sa salade verte - toasted ham and cheese sandwich with a green salad
Creme brulee a l'ancienne - baked vanilla cream with caramelized brown sugar

The little cookie it is served with is a madeline (sort of like pound cake).
