So, I think after multiple changes, deletions and additions, we have finalized our ADR selections for our November trip. Many of these places I have never been to so I welcome any feedback you might have.

Cast of Characters:

Me - 44
Wife - 45
Daughter # 1 - 20
Daughter # 2 - 4
Mother in law - 70
Father in law - 80

My wife and I and two daughters will be on the regular dining plan. My in laws will not be but we will probably be covering most of their meals.

November 14 - The Boathouse. Father in law is a big fan of all things boat related so I figured this would be a good opening day dinner. Using DP for this one.

November 15 - California Grill. Paying out of pocket for this one.

November 16 - Sanaa. I thought my youngest daughter would get a kick out of possibly seeing some animals while eating. Using DP.

November 17 - Morning Askerhaus Princess breakfast. Dinner - La Hacienda De San Angel. Using DP for both.

November 18 - Hoop De Doo. We wanted Tier 1 for an earlier show so already pre-paid for this one.

November 19 - Mickeys Christmas Party. Crystal Palace dinner at 5:00 pm. Using DP.

November 21 - Ohana. Using DP.

Not a fan of California Grill, not sure about an alternate choice. Is there an aspect of CG you particularly enjoy? Also Sanaa food will be good, I wouldn't count on seeing animals at dinner, but if you're at AKL while there's still some daylight your daughter will have a shot at seeing some animals anyway. :earsboy:

Nothing specific about California Grill except that we were there years before and enjoyed it. Especially the fireworks from the observation deck. Our reservation there will be too early for the fireworks this time. We were also thinking of Narcoossees for this spot too but there were no dinner slots available.

A couple of other notes...La Hacienda was 2nd choice to Via Napoli. Crystal Palace was 2nd choice to BOG. If either of those open up, we may make more changes but probably unlikely.

Another option for the California Grill night might be Citricos which does have availability but I have never been there and not sure how it compares to CG.

If fireworks are not in your CG plan go for something else - never ate at citricos but ate at narcoose and loved it

Interestingly, we haven't been to Citricos either, but it's booked for our next trip. It gets good reviews here, and I saw a pic of the pan fried veal chop that looks incredible. Josh at EasyWDW commented that it might be the single best entree he's had on property (or words to that effect).

We've just not been impressed with CG for a long time, but some people like it for the view of the MK fireworks.

Looks like we will be there the same week!

We will be driving down on the 14th and have a 7:00 ADR for the Boathouse that night. The reviews look pretty good so far. I am looking forward to it.

We have La Hacienda for dinner as well, except it is on the 16th.

I keep checking back for the California Grill, but no luck so far.

We are planning on MVMCP on the 19th too, but the only thing I could find open in the MK was a 3:55 ADR for Tony's. We have eaten at the Crystal Palace before and it was good with good character interaction.

All of our ADRs are new for us this trip so I keep looking back over them and wondering about the choices.

We have done Askerhaus for dinner in the past when our daughters were younger and the princess interaction was great. Ohana has always been one of our favorites so I think you will enjoy that as well.

For Sanaa, if you're not doing lunch, your daughter won't be able to see anything. The animals are usually brought in at or right after dusk. It is a great lunch, late lunch destination.

Yes, that is what I heard. I think I will still keep the reservation though or maybe try to move it to a late lunch. I have heard great things about the food.

Hey, I just released our 5:25 reservation for California Grill on the 15th. We decided to go with Citricos instead on that night.

We have a 7:30 pm reservation for The Boathouse on the same night as you. Lol.

For a few weeks I was unable to get anything in Magic Kingdom for the party night on the 19th and wanted to try to time it so that we were finishing up just as the party was getting ready to start. I just got lucky on the 5:00pm reservation at Crystal Palace. We have been there once before years ago when my now 20 year old daughter was about 11. We wanted BOG but was not that lucky.

We ate at The Boathouse a couple of weeks ago, it was very expensive but the food was good. Good that you will be on the dining plan for this restaurant. We had 2 fish taco meals (3 tacos each), shrimp cocktail (6 large shrimp) and 2 ice teas with tip and tax our meal came to $92. This will be our first and last time eating here unless I'm on the dining plan.

Everything else looks great, Enjoy your trip.

Yep, I looked at the prices and it does look pretty spendy. Fortunately, 4 of us will be on the dining plan but my in laws will not, so I will be paying for them out of pocket.

I looked for that California Grill time but it is not showing. It must have got snatched up pretty quickly. We looked for BOG anytime during that week, but no luck at all. All of our ADRs at this point are new to us, but I am looking forward to trying new places.

Also, we have no reservations for the 15th at this point. We will probably going to the MK that day and it closes at 7 for MVMCP and we are thinking about going over to EPCOT and trying some of the F&W booths.

Recently went to Via Napoli and wasn't impressed. Service was actually poor, and the food was pretty average. If it's Italian you want I'd go with Tutto Italia.
