Review: Flying With Southwest Without Printed Boarding Pass

I see folks mentioning companion passes...I never wait until I have enough points for what they term "companion fare" - if I want to get a ticket for someone other than myself with my points I just do it. I've bought tickets for both of us on the same reservation/record locator using just my points before.

That's not what a companion fare is. They are free passes you get after you reach a certain level.
I don't get them with Southwest but I do get one with Delta. You pay for your fare and another person flies with you for free.

Booking fares using points is something else. We do that too.

Ah - thanks for clarifying that for me. I always wondered...guess I never looked close enough at the definitions. Thanks!

It's happened to me before. The computer was malfunctioning and they sent everyone to the desk to reprint a paper pass, which they then collected and cross-referenced against the manifesto.
Well that makes sense. My brain just didn't go there. Thanks

I haven't printed a boarding pass in ages. Except a couple of overseas flights.

I am "old fashioned" in the sense that I would rather have the boarding pass hard copy , "in case something happens with my phone and I can't access it", just try to cover all the bases, very simple to print!
