My DH and I stayed at the Best Western in DTD January 22-January 28. I will list the pros and cons we noticed during the trip.
Pros:
-Close to WDW
-Friendly staff
-Nice balcony
-Wireless internet (you get the better reception at the higher floors. The person checking us in noticed we had a laptop and put us on the 17th floor so we could have better reception)
-Nice snack shop in the restaurant. After getting back from visiting one of the parks, my DH and I would want a snack and they were open until 10 PM. They had cakes and fruit bowls.
-Rooms was pretty large.
-Housekeeping kept our room nice and clean and gave us plenty of towels, etc.
-Great hotel for a family or groups on a budget. The hotel was $65 (including taxes, etc) a night. I am not sure if I would pay too much more than that for a room at Best Western in DTD.
-$1.50 for water and soda (not too bad)
-There is a washer and dryer on each floor, which costs $2 each (which can definitely add up if you have to do a lot of washing). We did not use the washer or dryer, but can see how handy that would be if we had kids.
Cons:
-Small bathroom
-Pillows were not comfortable
-Towels were very rough against my skin
-Sheets were also rough
-Transportation was late every day, ranging from 20-40 minutes late. DH and I said if we ever stay here again we would rent a car
Overall, the hotel is nice for those of us on a budget and would recommend staying there. We did not go swimming and did not eat at the restaurant, so I cannot comment on those areas.
I hope this information may help those of you considering Best Western in DTD.
