Do you/Should we invite the reverend to the reception? I didn't think of that and as I am filling out the planning kit, I noticed it said the "blessing" listed under order of events for the reception.
Thanks!:)

I think people do when it is their family rev/pastor who they see at church every Sunday and then they might have them say grace before you eat but for a destination wedding probably less so.

Exactly. In general, if you use an officiant from Disney's list, they will politely decline the traditional invite to the reception. That's more for home weddings and DFTWs where you bring someone you know to officiate.

We had a rabbi and we did not invite him to the reception, as we had only met him a few times. We did, however, give a generous donation to his temple after the wedding.

I also wasn't sure what the correct protocol was so we extended the reception invite to our officiant and he said yes. He is on the Disney recommended list. We have yet to meet him so i was actually surprised he said yes, like lurkyloo said, i figured he would politely decline. He will be sitting next to my gram though, who is thrilled that she has the important job of entertaining the reverend, haha!

Well that's interesting! Which officiant did you hire? I know I've interviewed several of Disney's regulars who told me they always decline the reception invite. But, hey, this way you'll have somebody to bless the meal too!
