whats some good movies that me and my mom can rent---nothing "inappropriate" b/c she'll flip--nothing R-rated, b/c she'll flip even MORE!!!! ::yes::

OK, I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but "13 Going On 30" was good. I think "Ella Enchanted" came out this week, I haven't seen it, but DSIL (llebrekniT) said it's really good.

DHB, did you see my other two posts to/about you??:teeth:

Yep, just went back & read 'em.

Let's see, thanks for thinking my kids are cute. DH is cute. Don't know about HOT anymore, but he's a great guy & a wonderful Dad. Poor guy, Lainie isn't even 2 yet & she's already got him wrapped. He can't say 'NO' to her.

Um, what else? Oh. I know I'm not that old. I'll be 33 in November. I still act the same as I always have. I can't stand when I run into people I knew when I was younger & they act like their parents. I think I freak 'em out because I still act as goofy as I did when I was 16. Oh well, it works for me. :teeth:

Well, I'm off to watch the Olympics. Have fun at Heather's!

Fayetteville downs ASD

TALLADEGA — Despite the crafty footwork from Fayetteville’s senior quarterback Marcus Huntly and ASD’s senior tailback Kevin Young, it was junior Charlie Williams who was the difference maker in Fayetteville’s 32-12 win at Kiwanis Field Friday night.
On the third play from scrimmage, Williams intercepted a William Byrd pass and scampered 38 yards down the sideline, scoring Fayetteville’s first touchdown of the 2004 season.

Williams also chalked up 44 yards rushing on five carries with his second touchdown from the offensive side of the ball.

“We had a lot of mistakes on both sides of the ball,” said Fayetteville head coach Byron Brasher. “But I’ll take a 32-12 win any day and have the opportunity to correct our mistakes.”

After a couple of first downs behind Young, who finished the night with 54 yards on 12 carries with one touchdown, the Silent Warriors could not find the end zone early on.

The Warriors defense contained the Wolves shifty quarterback for the most part of the first quarter. After stopping the Wolves on three downs, Fayetteville punted to the Silent Warriors, but a muffed catch enabled Brandon Chandler to scoop up the pigskin and run 31 yards for the second touchdown of the quarter.

After a two-point conversion, the Wolves were in control at 16-0 with a minute left in the first quarter.

“Fayetteville has a lot of seniors,” said ASD head coach Walter Ripley. “They came out ready to play and did very well and beat us.”

The remainder of the first half was eaten up by Fayetteville’s ball-control offense. But with less than three minutes left in the half, Huntly dropped back to pass and was pressured out of the pocket, then split two defenders and was off to the races.

Huntley ran 44 yards for the touchdown pushing Fayetteville’s lead to 24-0 with 2:11 left in the half.

“I felt that I played better than I did last year,” said Huntley. “But I got mad at myself for mental mistakes.

“I need to work on my passing.”

Things got a bit sloppy in the second half on both sides of the ball.

After a first down to the 50 yard line, Huntley dropped back to pass but then ran about 10 yards in each direction avoiding defenders. He was able to scramble around and gained 30 yards but the play was reversed on a holding penalty behind the line of scrimmage. The penalty turned a 30-yard gain into a 20-yard loss.

ASD managed to get on the board after a 45-yard drive. The drive was capped off by a touchdown on the ground from 13 yards out by Kevin Young.

After a 34-yard kickoff return by Huntley to the ASD 36. The Wolves were able to get into some smash-mouth football and drove the ball 36 yards on six plays capped by Charlie Williams’ touchdown run from 3 yards out.

ASD’s final attempt to form a comeback came when quarterback William Byrd hit Brian Williams for 31 yards to the 44 yard line. On the next play, Byrd hit Williams again in the corner for a 46-yard touchdown. After a failed conversion the score was 32-12 with 8:27 left in the game.

Byrd finished the game with 98 yards on 10 attempts with one touchdown and one interception.

Despite the valiant effort by the Silent Warriors it was not enough to mount a comeback.

Fayetteville now must face Ragland next week, while ASD will host Lyman Ward.

“We got Ragland next week. We just need to practice hard,” said Huntley. “We just need to give it all we got.”
