Family of six planning to use single rider at WWoHP. Can anyone explain for me the best place/landmark, way to describe to my kids (ages 11-15) where to wait to reunite after we do this so we don't end up wasting more time trying to gather back together.

As soon as you get off the ride, there's an area where people can stand and watch for people to get off. Just tell them to wait there.

Make sure evetyone is comfortable doing single rider. This is an intense ride and I know lots of folks including me and my 11yo who wouldn't do this alone.

OK. Thanks. Is it intense that it's scary? My kids are pretty big thrill-seekers.

Place to wait listed above is good. I think you should be fine with single rider. If it is too intense to ride alone, then they might not want to go because you really cannot see the person next to you very well, and it is difficult to reach around to touch. Some people are more comfortable just knowing there is someone they know next to them, but if your kids don't have an issue with that then single rider should be fine.

Wait, do you mean Forbidden Journey or do you mean Dragon Challenge?

FJ you end up in the giftshop at the very back of Hogsmeade (near the exit from Hippogriff).

Dragon...I don't know...I'm always so concussed and scared when I get off that ride I don't know where I am...

My 12 year old did not find the ride scary/intense at all, and I wish we'd saved an hour of our lives by doing single rider - we didn't know there was an option when we got in line (it opened just after, I think). If your kids don't scare terribly easily, I'd say go for the single rider line for sure.

Our first ride on FJ we did all together but we got to the park at EE and only waited 20 mins or so. From then on we did single rider every time. We usually were only one car apart and sometimes ended up on the same car. We waited for each other just past the exit from the actual ride vehicles. And if you are in cars side by side, you'll get off the ride almost at the same time.

As for the scary factor, my dd is not a thrill seeker. Everest scared her to death but she loves FJ!!!!

We may do this also, & I planned on having my husband go first and I would go last, putting all the kids in between.

Unless they added it recently, I didn't think Dragon Challenge had a single rider line.

Ok. I have no idea if it does. See mention of fear and post ride concussions. But when people ask about "the" ride in WwoHP I prefer to not guess which one. Seems "safer" to make sure.

I did mean Forbidden Journey. Thanks for asking for clarification! And thanks for all the helpful responses!

I would meet outside the gift shop near FOTH, the reason for this is that if you get the odd chance that one of your cars ends up at the special drop off upstairs then it could get confusing. We have had that happen a couple times where were let off there then had to walk down a hall to an elevator if I remember right to get back to the gift shop area.

Dragon Challenge will call out for singles or doubles. That is the way some of the other coasters work too.

We just got back last week, and HP area was ridiculously crowded. We kept loosing people in the crowds. There are just so many different sides and entrances and exits and everything is crammed so close together, it is very hard to pick people out of the crowd even when they are nearby. The best place we found to meet if lost was in front of the snowman. It's an easy place to find, out in the open, so it's easier to find your party there. Kids can even sit up on the wall in front of it to get a better view over the crowds if needed. After some trial and error, we discovered this location worked best for us. (Also group of 6 with kids ages 11-13.)

The gift shop for Forbidden Journey is packed with two different exits, we had issues meeting there. If you do meet there, I'd try over by the photos.

The dragon coasters have a separate entrance and exit, so make sure to specify which you will meet by. The exit is also very long with many different places to wait and two ways out. You can go either behind or beside Olivanders, so make sure if you meet at the exit, you meet around the corner before the split. There's a little viewing spot off to the side in the exit queue where you can watch the coasters go by. I'd try there; although, if it's too crowded it might not work well with a large group.

I think the key is to just be really specific. At first we weren't specific enough, and ended up spending a good amount of time looking for exactly where at the exit or entrance the kids were waiting. If I did it again, I'd have the whole party go first to the exit, point out a specific bench, or tree, or landmark and then designate that as the spot to meet at. Then I'd have everyone go to the entrance to ride. This wasn't necessary in the rest of the park because the crowds were much thinner, so a quick scan usually turned up wherever the kids had gotten off to, but in the cramped crowded HP world it was a whole different ball game.

The first time we rode FJ, we did single rider line and our kids were about 7, 8, 9, 11 and 13. In fact, I think we have only ridden FJ in the standby line a couple of times, most of the time we ride single rider, because it's so popular it almost always has a line. They will let you wait for the kids on the platform on the right, as you get off the ride, by the stairs. We have been doing this for about the last 3 years and it's always worked well and we haven't lost anyone yet ;-) Of course, if for some reason you get separated, just tell everyone to meet in the gift shop - it's right at the exit.

We'll probably use the single rider line for FJ in May, and I plan to tell my daughter to meet me at the video monitors to view the ride photos - the gift shop is pretty large, so that way we don't need to worry about missing each other.
