Returning to Fort Wilderness Cabins after Magic Kingdom After Hours - what should I expect?

We are planning to stay at MK until the end of the After Hours party which I believe is 1 AM. I understand the monorail and the water taxi will not be running that late, so we would need to take the bus from the TTC. I'm trying to get a sense of the time it takes for the bus - but when plugging the destination in the MDE app's transportation section, it shows a travel time of 60 min. Does it really take that long to travel fro MC to Fort Wilderness Cabins?

You would take the bus from MK not TTC and at that time of night it might take 15mins once on the bus. Once at FW you need to get to your cabin, so maybe another internal bus ride of 5 minutes. If you have a golf cart remember to park it near the bus depot for use at end of night not the boat dock if that’s how you get to MK.

The bus from Magic Kingdom will drop you off at the settlement. From there you will need an internal bus, yellow, orange or purple depending on which area you are staying in. Currently the orange and purple routes are combined due to the construction of the new resort.

Yeah, I was going to say the same thing as PP - the FW/MK bus normally picks up/drops off at the Settlement, not the “front” / Outpost bus stop like the other parks. Sometimes After Hours transportation operates in irregular configurations and sharing arrangements for some resorts and unfortunately I don’t have personal experience with doing an After Hours event while staying there. May also want to ask on the Camping/Ft Wilderness to see if anyone has any feedback there as well.

Have fun!

It stays the same for the after hours party. I work the drive shifts during the parties regularly.

Thanks for this. I'm guessing the distance to walk from the Settlement bus stop to the cabins is decent (~ 1 mile), so would then have to rely on the internal buses?

Yes, if you didn't have a golf cart, you'd probably want to take the internal bus. Settlement is pretty much the exact opposite end of the campground from the cabins loops. If you don't mind a long walk at night, it would be a bit over a mile to the closest loop.
